"I can't stop laughing". Chrissy Teigan's response to body-shaming snark is all class.

When Chrissy Teigen shared an Instagram photo on Monday that dared to bare her left nipple (see below — slightly NSFW), two frustratingly predictable things happened almost immediately.

Within a few hours, Instagram removed the post accordance with its image policy. While nudity in “photos of paintings and sculptures” is accepted, uncovered real-life breasts are not — something the #FreeTheNipple movement takes issue with.

Before that happened, some commenters took the opportunity to share their thoughts on the model’s body — and, as is inevitably the case on the Internet, many of them didn’t abide by the ol’ ‘if you don’t have anything nice to say…’ ethos.

The offending photograph

This would be enough to make any woman log off the internet forever, but Teigan has responded to both instances with her trademark humour and class.

Yesterday, the 29-year-old post a screengrab of an Instagram comment that particularly tickled her. The user had written: "I like Chrissy, sometimes... yes she's annoying but I like that she's like F**k it that baby f**ked my body up but so what."

Although it's probably not the most vitriolic comment of the lot, it's certainly patronising and shamey — 'aww look, a woman who likes her body despite it being ruined!' — not to mention insulting to any woman's who's undergone the physically transformative process that is having a child.

The funny thing is... Chrissy Teigan is not one of them, as she gleefully pointed out in her response:

Ahhh, yes — the importance of fact-checking.

As for Instagram's nipple aversion, Teigen has been cheekily poking the beast by re-uploading her original photo with a variety of filters over the top to try and satisfy the website's 'art in nudity' clause — one to make it look like an old oil painting, and two as monochrome and coloured 'pencil sketches'. The offending nipple was still visible in these images.

Despite Teigen's admittedly rather artistic efforts, all three images were swiftly removed by Instagram's SWAT team. Today she's skirted around the boundaries once again by posting another photo, ostensibly to show off her bouffant hair... yet one can't help but notice a barely-concealed breast in there too. Something tells us it wasn't an accident...

Oops! How did that get there?

Although Teigen's nipple has been censored for now, Teigen promises to keep fighting the fight, Tweeting: "The nipple has been temporarily silenced but she will be back, oh yes, she will be back." Gotta love her audacity.

We'll be honest here — until earlier this year, we didn't really know anything about Chrissy Teigen apart from the fact she was married to musician John Legend.

However, she's quickly becoming one of our favourite celebrity Instagrammers — here's just a small selection of her photos. (Post continues after gallery.)

Not only does Teigen brilliantly flip the bird to body shamers, she also doesn't filter out her stretch marks ("stretchies" as she nicknames them) and refuses to retouch the images she uploads. In Celebrity Land, this is something of an oddity.

“I just didn’t feel like doing it anymore — and I’m never doing it again, because I think we forgot what normal people look like now,” she said during an appearance on the The Meredith Vieira Show.
