Brawl involving 50 people in Sydney's CBD spills out onto street.

A man is charged following a brawl that involved up to 50 people in Sydney’s CBD, police say.

Emergency services were called to Bligh Street following reports a brawl had spilled out of a hotel and onto the street in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police from the Sydney City, Surry Hills and Kings Cross commands, along with the Police Transport Command attended the scene and attempted to break up the fight.

Police from three area commands along with the transport unit were called to the scene.

A senior constable from Kings Cross was forced to draw his Taser after being surrounded by a large group of people involved in the brawl, according to police.

One of the group then started to throw punches at him and two more police officers were also assaulted while trying to break up scuffles, officers said.

Authorities said police were eventually able to stop the brawl before they arrested a 32-year-old man from Rhodes. He was charged with two counts of assaulting police, one count of affray and resisting arrest.

The man was refused bail and is due to appear before Central Local Court tomorrow.
