Two little girls miraculously survived this crash. Their mother did not.

Two young girls have survived a car crash but their mother has been killed after their vehicle rolled onto its roof at Bega on the New South Wales South Coast.

Police found the overturned vehicle on Monday evening with the woman deceased in the driver’s seat and a three-month-old and two-year-old in the back seat.

The girls suffered minor injuries and were initially taken to Bega District Hospital for observation.

Police are investigating the cause of the Bega accident in which a mother was killed.

Earlier in the evening, the woman’s husband told police he had been unable to contact his wife since earlier that morning and she had failed to return home with their two children that afternoon.

Police conducted a search and found the overturned car on Tathra Road, just past Kerrisons Lane, about 7:30pm on Monday night.

Officers are now investigating the cause of the accident and a report is being prepared for the coroner.

Police Commander Peter O’Brien said while both the children were unscathed, the youngest will be flown to Sydney for further observation.

“Luckily two young females, two years old and three months old were found in the car,” he said.
