Before the genius invention of hybrid skincare-makeup products, our complexions weren't living up to their highest glowy potential.

Of course, the right skin prep is important for setting the perfect canvas for makeup to glide on more smoothly, last longer and (sometimes) offer luminosity, but we — 'the people' — were looking for makeup products that offered something a little more skin-boosting while still giving us a natural-looking finish.

Well, the makeup gods (read: all the clever makeup brands) heard our calls, went back to their boardrooms and said: Why not both?

Now, skincare makeup has become a *huge* trend (one we predict is thankfully here to stay).

From skin tints to blushes, mascaras and lip products, this new wave of multi-functional makeup skincare hybrids includes popular skin-loving ingredients like vitamin C and hyaluronic acid to ensure your base is base-ing and your makeup is makeup-ing to the nth degree.

In other words, giving your complexion a nourished, hydrated natural-looking finish while your face reaps the benefits of skin-loving ingredients.

The perfect no makeup-makeup products!

Personally, I'm so happy skincare-infused makeup is a thing, because I can't imagine my makeup bag without these complexion-boosting products.

Side note: There's a mammoth selection of skincare-infused makeup, here are just some to keep on your radar...

The best skin tints to buy.

Sitting in that sweet spot between makeup/foundations and skincare are skin tints or serum foundations, which have seen a huge surge in popularity thanks to TikTok.

As we move into the warmer seasons, this is even more reason to be trading in our heavier cakey foundations in favour of base products that feel weightless and breathable while offering us skincare benefits as they sit pretty on our faces all day.

Here are just a few to try:

L'Oréal Paris True Match Nude Plumping Tinted Serum 30ml, $44.99.

Contains:One percent pure hyaluronic acid, hydrogenated jojoba oil, rosa canina fruit oil and Centaurea cyanus flower extract.

We don't expect all-day coverage from our skin tints, but if you were after a more affordable serum foundation that goes the distance, then add the $40 L'Oréal True Match Serum foundation to your cart, stat.

An office fave, this isn't just a great skincare-infused makeup product, it's an amazing skin tint and serum foundation in general.

It offers a luminous satin finish with light-medium buildable coverage and thanks to the hyaluronic acid in the formula, leaves your face looking more plump.

This is one of my top picks for an everyday wear skin tint (and TikTok agrees, with a whopping 600 million views on this skincare-based makeup product).

Check out how dewy it leaves your skin after just one application in this video.

M.A.C Cosmetics Studio Radiance Serum Powered Foundation 30ml, $76.

Contains:Ten percent hyaluronic acid solution, vitamin E, jojoba oil and olive oil (plus 33 other skincare ingredients!) to give you a radiant finish.

A new personal favourite, I'm going to do a M.A.C serum foundation review for you soon but long story short — it's amazing. Coverage, shade match, texture, finish — fires on all cylinders.

Shade range is something M.A.C does pretty well, and this gorgeous serum foundation comes in an impressive 56 shades. It leaves an incredibly luminous finish that is natural, enhancing your own skin in the best way possible. Also leaves skin looking bouncier.

Like all skin tints and serum foundations, this one is super buildable, although I found one application enough for me.

Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Skin Tint 50ml, $76.

Contains:Shea butter and hyaluronic acid to nourish, hydrate and soften the skin. And that's not all. This sweat- and humidity-resistant skin tint is also infused with vitamins B, C, E and D.

The Bobbi Brown skin tint warms up the skin beautifully. If you want a fresh, luminous base for a day occasion — this is the one for you.

The texture does come out heavy, but as soon as you start blending and applying on the face it sheers out, leaving a smooth, super- dewy finish that looks like you've hardly got anything on.

I loved the fresh, glowy finish and wore it out on a lunch date, but found that I did need to apply a few layers for the coverage I wanted.

Adore Beauty staffer and makeup aficionado Adele also loves this skin tint...

She says, "I love the Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Skin Tint as it's a glass of water for the skin. Giving the skin a beautiful luminous finish whilst hydrating it throughout the day. Perfect for the sunny spring days with its light-medium coverage you simply cannot go wrong."

Now before we move on to concealers, it would be silly of us not to mention both the Clinique Serum Foundation (special because it also includes Clinique's unique UP302 ingredient — a brightening botanical molecule that is known for its antioxidant properties).

And if you want a skincare-infused skin tint that imparts a gorgeous glow and makes you look like you've just had a facial, the Huda Beauty GloWish Multi Dew Skin Tint ($56) is my top pick (if you're looking for fuller coverage, though, this won't be the one for you).

The best hybrid concealers to buy.

Harnessing the power of skincare ingredients like caffeine, hyaluronic acid and vitamin C, skincare-infused concealers work overtime to plump, brighten and hydrate the under-eye area while also masking dark circles.

I personally find concealers with the inclusion of skincare benefits make my makeup look healthier and more illuminated too — which is exactly what someone with dark and dry under eyes like me needs in their life.

There's a whole host of them you can find on Adore Beauty, here's just a few worth noting:

Clinique Even Better All-Over Concealer + Eraser 6ml, $52.

Contains:Vitamin C, hyaluronic acid and caffeine.

There's a reason my under eyes and I constantly rave about this full-coverage concealer.

While vitamin C and hyaluronic acid plump and hydrate, caffeine is there to help energise tired and puffy-looking eyes.

You can see in the image above what a difference concealers with and without skincare ingredients can make on the skin!

This correcting concealer also makes the top of my cheeks look instantly more plump, which is why I love it so much.

IT Cosmetics ByeBye Dark Spots Concealer 6.7ml, $57.

Contains: Niacinamide, hyaluronic acid and caffeine.

A concealer-serum hybrid, this one includes one of my favourite ingredients — niacinamide. Not only am I getting the plumping and brightening benefits, I'm getting the calming benefits of niacinamide too.

Though not as high coverage as the Clinque, the creamy texture and skin-enhancing ingredients still make this a great pick, especially for those like me with creasy, dry under eyes.

Also, the built-in
