There’s no denying that Meghan Markle has already cemented herself as a style icon in the British royal family.

From her famous wedding dress to her outfits on her recent Australian tour alongside Prince Harry, the Duchess of Sussex’s subtle ways of channeling her own heritage and the royal family’s heritage in her style certainly haven’t got unnoticed.

And now it seems Meghan’s channelling Princess Diana in her style choices too.

On Monday, the Duchess attended Commonwealth Day services in London alongside Prince Harry, Prince William and Kate Middleton.

For the occasion, Meghan wore a white nurse-like Victoria Beckham coat and hat.

But as many royal enthusiasts pointed out, Meghan's choice of outfit was very similar to an outfit Princess Diana once wore.

On April 10, 1987, Princess Diana wore a similar white suit and hat designed by Catherine Walker when she made a visit to the Sandhurst Military Academy.

In 2017, Kate Middleton also wore a similar outfit for the Easter Sunday church service.

It's definitely not the first time the Duchess of Sussex has been inspired by Diana's style.

On the day she announced her pregnancy in Sydney back in October last year, Meghan wore a pair of Diana's earrings.

Worn by Princess Diana during a 1991 tour to Canada, Meghan's former home, the earrings were originally thought to be Gucci, until eager onlookers noticed they’d been worn before.

Are you high?? Meghan looks like a nurse from the 1970's in that pillbox hat - it's a dreadful outfit. Channeling an outfit straight out of 1987 isn't fashion goals - the 80's were largely bloody awful (yes, even when Diana wore it). Aside from that, I don't think Meghan was trying to emulate Diana at all, anyway - just another "touching tribute" far-reach there (nothing more creepy than suggesting that a woman is dressing up like her husband's dead mother).

Exactly. All I thought was 'Paging Nurse Markle, Paging Nurse Markle'...it just looks silly and awkard looking.
