We finally know the politician going into the jungle. And it should be.... entertaining.

We finally know that the politician going on Season five of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! is Sam Dastyari.

The former labor member represented New South Wales in the Australian Senate from 2013 to 2018, and was the first person of Iranian origin to sit in parliament.

After a donations scandal in early 2018, in which the 35-year-old senator requested a Chinese-linked business pay a $1670 travel expense bill he owed, he resigned.

In his exclusive interview with Fairfax, the politician is evidently taking responsibility for his actions, sharing that part of the reason he wants to go on reality television is so that when his daughter is old enough to google him, she does not think her father is defined by the scandal that led to his resignation.

In an exclusive interview with Fairfax, the politician shared that he hopes to make his daughter proud.

“In a period of time my daughter, Hannah, will be old enough to read the internet and read all the bad decisions I’ve made in the past, but I hope she will see the other things out there and if that means eating a spider or lying in a snake pit then so be it,” he told Fairfax.

“I see this opportunity as a way with dealing with things – and nothing can be worse than what’s going on inside my head,” he added.

Among other celebrities, such as Angie and Yvie fro Gogglebox, Dastyari will be braving the South African jungle tomorrow.

There are also ~rumours~ that Pamela Anderson could be making an appearance on the show.

I’m a Celebrity Get me Out of Here premiers January 13 on Network 10.

I am so disappointed that Dr Chris Brown who I respected as a vet, has sold out for tv status. Can't he just be the vet we all love, and stop trying to be something that he is not? Chris please go back to the vet surgery, and stop trying to be a tv personality.

Yeah, I get it. But he is ridiculously good looking - so that's a no from me.

Huh? He's a TV presenter. That's his job.

He is a TV vet. Not a news or TV presenter.

I've seen Chris Brown presenting on 'The Project', 'The Living Room', this show for years now. He started his TV career as a TV vet, but he's now a TV presenter.

I only see the ads for this show or see th odd headline on sites lie this or DailyMail. But it never fails to amaze me how many of these "celebrities" are recycles from reality programs, and/or need to have it explained regularly to the audience who they are and what qualifies them to be a "celebrity." It's usually a washed-up has been or some Instagram influencer types trying to launch their career. Then there are one or two bigger names that are better known, and those are the paid ones that usually stay for the blink of an eye and get more decently paid for it. And Dr Chris Brown comes across as a sell-out unnatural fool... looks a real goose on the cringey promotional ads.
