It was one of the most talked about topics in the lead up to the royal wedding – which designer would Meghan Markle choose to wear?

After months of never-ending speculation, we finally got the big reveal last Saturday when Meghan walked down the aisle to wed Prince Harry in a stunning long sleeve wedding gown designed by Givenchy’s creative director Clare Waight Keller.

But designer Emilia Wickstead believes the Duchess of Sussex’s £200,000 wedding dress is identical to one of her own gowns, priced at £7,000.

“Her dress is identical to one of our dresses,” Wickstead told Daily Mail,

“Apparently a lot of commentators were saying, ‘It’s an Emilia Wickstead dress.'”

While many loved Meghan's elegant wedding look, designer Wickstead had nothing nice to say.

"If you choose a simple design the fit should be perfect. Her wedding dress was quite loose," she said.

She also didn't like Meghan's bridal hairstyle adding, "I was like, 'hold the wisps back – it's a royal wedding for God's sake.'"

A photo of the 'identical' wedding dress was posted on Emilia Wickstead's bridal Instagram two days ago, with many fans of Meghan's dress commenting on the post.

"Sure. Identical. Except for the neckline, sleeves, skirt, train & fabric. Other than that, splitting image of the Duchess’ dress," one commenter wrote.

Wickstead is a designer that Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, wears frequently.

Meghan has also previously worn one of Wickstead's designs on Anzac Day last month.

Sounds like sour grapes on Wickstead's part that Meghan didn't choose her to design the wedding dress. I thought Meghan looked beautiful, even the wispy bits of hair.
