There’s a trendy new shoe in town and chances are you’ve spotted them scrolling through your Instagram feed.
Specifically, they’re a beautiful pair of heels.
They’ve got thin straps, leave nothing to the imagination and demand the wearer get a full heel-to-toe pedicure/angle grinder to the foot before leaving the house.
The heels in question: The Bottega Veneta Stretch Sandals, AUD $1,000.
As seen recently on the feet of Aussie fashion influencer and Elle Effect founder Elle Ferguson and celebrity eyebrow artist Kristin Fisher, the heels by British fashion designer and Bottega Veneta Creative Director Daniel Lee are the epitome of the naked shoe trend.
The skinny ankle-strap sandals have the signature Bottega Veneta elongated square sole, come in several colours and are made from rubber-injected leather (!!!) for the best comfort money can buy.
Put simply, they’re expensive.
Yes, these shoes are art, but not all of us are in a spot to pay a month’s rent (or fortnight, depending on where you live) on footwear.
Enter, the affordable dupe: The Dazie Halina Heels, $69.99.
Now, these are no Bottega Veneta pair because a) they’re not Bottega Veneta and b) they’re not Bottega Veneta, but as you can see by the way Aussie Stylist and Creative Izi Angus styled her pair, they do look pretty darn luxe for their price tag.
There are some key differences between the designer Bottega Veneta heels and the Dazie pair worth noting:
- These are not the $1,000 shoes, so probably won’t last as long as you’d expect $1,000 shoes to.
- The Dazie pair are made from faux leather with a patent finish.
- The open toe shape on the Dazie pair is more of a subtle square rather than the full Bottega Veneta square.
- BUT they are a 14th of the price.
That fourth point is very important.
