PSA: Here are the top 5 romantic comedies new to Netflix Australia.

If you’re anything like the rest of us, there is a part of you racking your brain for an excuse to stay in with a pad thai and watch Netflix tonight, instead of venturing out into the cold to ‘socialise’ with ‘friends’.

Luckily for you, there have been five incredible romantic comedies added to Netflix Australia in the past few weeks. And they need watching. It’s a matter of national importance.

1. Notting Hill. 

Thank your lucky stars, Netflix has finally added Notting Hill to their selection. This romantic comedy, which was released in 1999 features two of our absolute favourite actors: Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts.

It follows the wonderful narrative of an actress falling in love with a bookshop owner in the very aesthetically pleasing Notting Hill in London. It's equally as hilarious as it is heart-warming.

2. How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days.

Set in New York and featuring both Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey, this 2003 classic will leave your eyeballs very satisfied. The plot follows Andie Anderson, a magazine journalist, as she writes a column on the best ways not to attract men.

In the pursuit of romantic truth, Andie stumbles across Benjamin Barry, a charming marketing executive she intends to drive away. But naturally, things don't quite turn out the way she wanted.

3. Bridget Jones's Baby. 

The much-anticipated sequel of the Bridget Jones franchise, this 2016 romantic comedy is hilarious. Featuring middle-aged women glamping at a music festival and a healthy dose of Colin Firth, it will leave you in fits of laughter.

The plot follows Bridget Jones as she finds out she's pregnant, but due to a busy few weeks, she isn't quite sure who the dad is.

4. Wild Child.

If you're partial to English Countryside and smug teenage romance, this is definitely the movie for you. Featuring Emma Roberts and Alex Pettyfer, the plot follows as Poppy Moore, a teenager living in LA, is sent to boarding school in England.

This movie features every possible cliche from teenage movies, including but not limited to buying alcohol underage in disguise and a thrift shop makeover, and it's amazing from start to finish.

5. Set It Up. 

Netflix originals tend to go one way or another, but Set It Up is a genuinely fantastic romantic comedy.

When two assistants who work in the same building try to set their bosses up, with the hope they might give them each some time off, things blow up in their faces. But as you can imagine, it's not all bad.
