The most controversial TV shows of 2016.

Nobody wants to award the prize for second best, but we’ve put on our big boy pants and rounded up all the shows that left a few people a little disappointed this year.

(And here are all the ones we loved in 2016)

It’s a controversial list so let’s just keep in mind that everybody has a different opinion, but that’s the joy of TV. It gets us talking.

The Binge host Laura Brodnik invited entertainment journalist Jessica Clark onto this week’s episode to weigh in on which shows they think just didn’t hit the mark this year.

Laura Brodnik’s “Didn’t Quite Hit The Mark” 2016 TV Shows

1. Luke Cage

"I just feel like it didn't come together. Jessica Jones set the bar so high for this franchise to kick off and the second installment just didn't live up to the hype."

"It had solid performances but it was just really forgettable."

Where you can watch: Netflix.

2. Divorce

"I felt like it had a really good central premise but it didn't deliver on that."

Where you can watch: HBO channel on Foxtel.

3. The Crown

"I'm not saying it's a terrible show, I'm just saying for the money and the hype and the prestige that went into it, it wasn't a compelling show."

Where you can watch: Netflix.

4. The Wrong Girl

"It ended up being kind of just a rom-com about a beautiful blonde woman deciding between two men."

Where you can watch: Channel 10's Ten Play portal here.

Jessica Clark's Top Five "Maybe Not So Great" 2016 TV Shows

1. Fear the Walking Dead

"I loved The Walking Dead and it has a massive fan base. I don't think we need a spin-off, we already fear the walking dead. We don't need to fear them some more."

Where you can watch: Foxtel.

2. Who Killed Jon Benet

"It's kind of like Making A Murderer, but the trashy version."

Where you can watch: Nine.

3. Fuller House

"Full House without Michelle Tanner is not a full house at all."

Where you can watch: Netflix.

4. The Secret Daughter

"Bear with me while I use a cooking analogy. All the ingredients were there but the cake just didn't come together."

Where you can watch: Channel 7's online viewing portal here.

5. Zumbo's Just Desserts

"Zumbo's... cooking show... Zumbo's... Just Desserts! So bad I didn't even remember the name."

Where you can watch: Channel 7's online viewing portal here.

I liked 'Divorce', mainly for the performance of Thomas Hayden Church, who manages to be both sad and very funny at the same time. He's brilliant.
