It’s been a big year, bingers, but we’ve managed to whittle down our top TV picks for 2016 down to a list of ten.

The Binge host Laura Brodnik was joined by Mamamia entertainment journalist Jessica Clark to discuss the best shows to hit our screens this year.

1. Survivor Australia

"I wish there was more gross food but I was so sucked in and there was a little bit of a twist at the end - twist endings at the end of a reality TV show gets me every single time."

2. Game Of Thrones Season Six.

"Any show that can get me searching through Reddit and scouring the internet for fan theories... It's weird. I get Game Of Thrones obsessed for those 10 weeks of my life."

3. Westworld

Westworld is a bit of a sci-fi meets western wonderland. Key cast performances to look out for include Evan Rachel Wood and Thandie Newton.

4. Stranger Things

"If you haven't seen it then I don't know what you've been doing this whole year."

5. Have You Been Paying Attention

"It's one of those news current affairs shows that really takes the piss out of itself... It's just amazing."

"It was so sad, it was so funny, the characters' story lines were so good. I know that's a lot of descriptive words but I just can't get into it."

"It's the perfect thing to watch over Christmas because it's so light and it's so laugh out loud funny... It's the rom-com for the people who are sick of watching rom-coms."

"It's probably the best Australian TV show of the year. It's kind of mythical drama that drew upon a lot of Aboriginal dream time culture. It was a really original idea."
