The “rude” phone call with Prince Harry that Thomas Markle claims ended their ties.

With scathing interviews being released almost weekly, it’s clear things aren’t exactly going well between Meghan Markle’s father Thomas Markle and the royal family.

But speaking to Daily Mail this weekend, the 74-year-old has given what he claims will be his very last interview.

Thomas Markle made headlines back in May when he pulled out of his daughter’s royal wedding to Prince Harry at the last minute after suffering a heart attack.

The news of Markle’s heart attack came just days after the former Hollywood lighting director was caught staging photographs with paparazzi.

In a new interview with Daily Mail, Markle has shared how the Duke of Sussex warned him to avoid the press shortly after Meghan and Harry’s relationship went public.

“Harry told me that I should never go to the press. That it would end in tears. He said, ‘They will eat you alive.’ He was right,” Markle told Daily Mail.

But Markle didn't take Harry's advice.

Instead, he made an arrangement with paparazzi and staged photos trying on a wedding suit.

Although Markle initially lied to Harry about staging the photos, he recalled a tense, "rude" phone call he reportedly had with Harry while in hospital, after the truth was exposed.

According to Markle, Harry said, "If you had listened to me this would never have happened".

Markle told Daily Mail he responded: "Maybe it would be better for you guys if I was dead... then you could pretend to be sad".

Markle said he then hung up on Prince Harry.

The 74-year-old added that he is "done" with the royal family.

"I'm not mad at Harry. I'm not mad at Meghan. I love them. I wish them well. Bust as for the rest of it, f*ck it. I'm done."

Watch: Thomas Markle is interviewed on Sunday Night.

He was asked NOT to talk to the press and warned that they would eat him alive, but still he and his stupid, jealous daughter sprouted off every chance they got. What did they think would happen? They were messing with the Royal Family, for God's sake. The UK is NOT the USA where celebrities prance in front of the cameras every chance they get and take money for it. You did this to yourself, Markle, so WEAR IT.

The UK press can be as ruthless as the American and the Royal Family are more than happy to speak to the press when it suits their agenda. Anyway, the younger Royals act more like celebrities these days, so who cares if the old dad shoots his mouth off to the press?

Not sure I agree. Meghan has acted dignified and discreetly throughout this whole process. If it was my Dad I would be devastated and frustrated and let down. She’s never told her side, nor is likely to. But it seems the American Markles are a bunch of hillbillies who are frothing with jealously and will do anything to get a piece of the limelight and a piece of Meghan. I bet Samantha Markle resented Meghan her whole life, but now she’s famous and rich and as high status as you can get, so she’s taking every opportunity to insert herself into the story.

The half siblings, I agree are about on par with trailer trash, but apparently the Lord High Chamberlain advised Meghan to invite them to the wedding, saying it was better to try and keep them within the fold. She (allegedly) said she didn't know them and ignored his advice, instead inviting a bunch of guests, the Clooneys, Oprah, people she barely knew. The fsther says that he was hurt when he didn't receive the same treatment (post engagement) as the mother, which included an announcment (scroll) delivered by Consulate officials etc. His list of grievances sounded quite genuine. When Kate married William, her Uncle Garry (a wife hitting, coke head) scored an invite to their wedding. I guess we will have to wait for the retired Palace courtier's 'tell all' book about this sorry saga.

True. Like Meghan (like many people) we have people in our families that are drama magnets, energy vampires and narcissists who seem to have trouble follow them like stink on s**t. And she also said she hadn't been in contact with them for ten years. I think if I was in her position, based on what we know, I wouldn't invite them either. At least the Clooneys and Oprah would know how to act and dress and interact (or not) with the press. I don't think you could trust those family members not to take photos, and sell them to the press either.

What an idiot... he was warned what would happen, decided to ignore advice and now cries about how awful the royal family and his daughter are to him.
