An intimate photo of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has disappeared from the Queen's home.

There are few things we love more in this world than involving ourselves in a royal scandal.

Even if the so called “scandal” is perhaps a made up one.

Essentially, the Queen’s framed photo of Prince Harry and his new wife Meghan Markle has disappeared and we are worried.

You see, last month Australia’s High Commissioner George Brandis met with Queen Elizabeth at her very stately Buckingham Palace home. It was from photos of this meeting that the internet noticed a never-seen-before photo of the new Duke and Duchess of Sussex sitting pretty in the Queen’s Audience Room.

And now, just over a week later, the photo has disappeared.

Cue: scandal, intrigue, horror, conspiracy theories and wide-spread confusion.

Eagle-eyed royal fans (who would give the MI5 a run for its money) noticed the portrait of the newly wedded couple was not present during one of the Queen's latest visits, with only the photo of Prince Harry and Prince William remaining.

The 92-year-old monarch was presenting Scottish composer Thea Musgrave with the Queen's Medal for Music when people noticed that the photo was gone.

It is believed that the intimate photo of Meghan and Prince Harry was from the couple's engagement shoot with Alexi Lubomirski in December, 2017.

While your guess is as good as ours as to why the photo was removed, the most plausible explanation is that a royal aide has relocated the portrait to another area of the Palace.

And yet, to quote the great Carrie Bradshaw... we couldn't help but wonder... why?

Who are these people spending so much time examining the background of royal photos, looking for... CHANGES (shock, horror)? Too much time on their hands? Someone sad that Harry didn't marry them, and hoping to find 'proof' that Meghan's on the outs with the Queen? Daily Mail 'reporters', hoping to stir up some rumours?

Does it matter enough to warrant an actual article be written about it?
