Married At First Sight's resident feminist Dean told Tracey what he expects from a wife.

File this one under things we kind of already knew.

Tonight’s episode of Married At First Sight saw Dean and Tracey cruising on a boat down a river, and what had the potential to be a really romantic date took a turn when Dean just started talking at his 35-year-old partner.

One of the things he delved into was exactly what he would expect from Tracey as his wife – specifically after kids came into the equation – and let’s just say no one was particularly surprised by his opinions.

An emotional Tracey told the 39-year-old she had some concerns about continuing their relationship, and that’s when Dean went for the hard sell,  throwing everyone else on the show under the bus in the process.

"No offence to anyone else, but I thought you and me have had a stronger connection than anyone else in this experiment from day one. I think they're all kidding themselves," he told her.

After airing their trust issues, Tracey questioned whether Dean was really ready to commit to one woman, because, you know... Davina.

"But are you ready? Are you really ready for a committed relationship? How do I know you've got that out of your system and you're not just going to suddenly change your mind or get bored with me?" she asked him.

And that's when Dean dropped his baby bombshell. Dean told her that once they officially locked this thing down, he expected her to stay at home with the kids. There's not a damn thing wrong with being a stay-at-home mum, but Dean didn't exactly give Tracey a choice. He just told her how it would be.

"I'm looking for a partner to have kids with. I want my wife to be there for our kids and taking care of our kids. That's always how I would see that working," he informed her.

Meanwhile, he's happy to take a bit of a backseat when it comes to the parenting stuff.

"I'll be there as well, but my wife would definitely be very responsible for raising the children, and I think that's the right way for it to be done," he continued.

Turns out everything Dean was saying really resonated with Tracey, which is great that they're on the same page, but who knew?

"You know I'm very old-fashioned and I do have old-fashioned values about being a stay-at-home mum for the first few years," she told him.

And the voice of Married At First Sight is… Post continues below.

"That's really important to me. It'll be nice to be in a position like I was with my daughter, to not have to worry about work. I do have very old-fashioned values when it comes to that."

"So do I," Dean responded.

They then said some more gushy stuff about having an amazing connection and being a great match for each other, before sharing a kiss on the back of the boat.

Guys, these two might actually work out... which is almost the most shocking thing of all.

What exactly is wrong with that? He is a man who wants a woman who will be the primary caregiver for their children, she wants to be the primary caregiver to their children. Isn't that just...compatibility?

I totally agree. Feminism is all about equality and freedom to do what you want with you life. Just like we fought for women to have choices, we don't want to go backwards and have a problem with women who want to be home makers. I didn't plan it this way, but that's pretty much what my life has been for the past ten years....and it's busy, joyful and fulfilling!

While she may think she's on the same page, I have serious doubts that he would be the supportive husband she would need to be able to fulfil her desire to stay home with more children. I can't help but feel like she is walking into a disaster, but hey I could be wrong!

Unfortunately for Tracey, I think you're spot on.
