Celeb in 5: Thursday's best entertainment and gossip news.

1. Ian Thorpe and Ryan Channing just shared their plans to start a family.

Ian Thorpe and his partner Ryan Channing have shared their plans to become parents.

Swimming champion Thorpe told the Daily Mail that he and his partner are looking into surrogacy in the United States.

“We’re talking about it and have for a while, but it’s still early days,” the 36-year-old said.

“Yes, we decided to visit the clinic in LA – it’s all part of the plan at this stage.”

The couple, who have been dating since 2015, decided to explore surrogacy in the US due to Australia’s strict surrogacy laws.

“Becoming parents is something that Ian and myself would love to make happen,” Channing told the Daily Mail.

“Unfortunately the laws in Australia are difficult for same sex males in regards to surrogacy – California state law has really progressed in this space which makes it the best option legally.”

2. STOP. Meghan Markle has hired a very handsome press secretary.

In your daily dose of non-essential but entertainment royal news, Meghan Markle has hired a very lovely new press secretary.

By lovely, we mean handsome, and handsome he is.

This handsome man’s name is Christian Jones and his official title is Deputy Communications Secretary for The Duke and Duchess of Sussex Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, and The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Prince William and Kate Middleton.

According to News.com.au, Jones has previously worked in British Government before – first as the Chief Press Officer at the Treasury from 2014-2016, and then as a speechwriter for the Department for Exiting the European Union a.k.a Brexit.

But Twitter doesn’t really care much about that because photos of Markle and Jones leaving a restaurant are giving us major Netflix show Bodyguard vibes.

American country music star Carrie Underwood has given birth to a baby boy.

The former American Idol contestant turned Grammy-winning singer/songwriter shared the happy news on Instagram, writing that she and husband Mike Fisher “couldn’t be happier”.

“Jacob Bryan Fisher entered the world in the wee hours of the morning on Monday… his mom, dad and big brother couldn’t be happier for God to trust them with taking care of this little miracle!” the 35-year-old captioned three images of her family meeting the newest addition in hospital.

“Our hearts are full, our eyes are tired and our lives are forever changed. Life is good.”

Jacob is younger brother to the couple’s first son, three-year-old Isaiah.

Here’s hoping both mum and bub are happy and healthy!

4. Yolanda Hadid has addressed the persistent Gigi and Bella plastic surgery rumours.

It could be said former model and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Yolanda Hadid gave birth to two of the most beautiful people in the world, supermodels Gigi and Bella Hadid.

And when you’re beautiful, people naturally wonder if your beauty is real or if it’s had a bit of a helping hand.

Both Gigi and Bella Hadid have been rumoured to have had cosmetic surgery but in an Instagram post, Yolanda addressed her family’s really, really, ridiculously good looking genes.

After sharing a selfie of herself “living in a body free of breast implants, fillers, botox, extensions…”, one of Yolanda’s followers dared to ask if the same could be said of her daughters.

“I agree with you but what about your daughters? Especially Bella? She is beautiful but must use fillers? And she is in the business so how do you rationalise that?” one commenter asked, to which Yolanda replied, “None of my children have never [sic] done fillers or Botox or put anything foreign in their bodies, they know better after seeing what I went through.”

Well, there you have it. In case you were wondering.

5. ‘Hanging on by a thread’: Kate Langbroek’s confession about moving her family to Italy.

Kate Langbroek announced this week that she’s making a huge change.

The Melbourne radio host is packing up her family and moving to Bologna, Italy, for a year.

And while she was positive when sharing the news on her Hit Network’s drive show with Dave Hughes on Monday, on Wednesday’s episode of The Project she seemed a little more unsure.

“I can’t tell you why because I’ve got NFI (no f***ing idea), but at the time it seemed like a good idea that we take our four kids children and go live in Italy for a year,” she said while on the panel.

“Why? I don’t know, but I’m hanging by a thread. Mind you, so does a spider.”

Luckily, she’s made plans on how she can continue broadcasting the Hughesy & Kate show and you can read all about it in our earlier post here.

4. Denying the use of fillers or Botox but skirting the fact that Bella has gone under the knife. That nose was NOT the one she had a few years ago! It grates on me when these types deny or refuse to admit the use of cosmetic procedures to achieve their look when it is so bloody obvious! It doesnt bother me that they have had work, it bothers me that they don’t own it. It is a very dangerous message to send to young, impressionable girls.

She may deny Bella’s had any Botox or fillers, but anyone can see her face is very different than it was a few years ago. I suppose she doesn’t have to tell the world what she’s had done, that’s her private business, but at the same time, we’re not stupid.
