Inside the rumour Hayden Panettiere barely gets to see her daughter.

Hayden Panettiere‘s four-year-old daughter Kaya is reportedly being raised by her dad Wladimir Klitschko in his native Ukraine, 10,000km away from Los Angeles, where Panettiere resides.

According to a ‘source’ who spoke to US Weekly, this means the actress reportedly “never gets to see her”.

The parenting arrangement, the source said, has the Nashville star heartbroken, as she jets over to Europe as much as possible in an effort to visit the little girl since the couple’s split last year.

Said ‘source’ told the magazine: “She knows the child being with her is not best [for Kaya right now]. It’s a sad situation.”

“It’s heartbreaking and challenging,” they said.

But there are always two sides to a rumour, and Hayden’s new boyfriend Brian Hickerson has told Access; “Hayden is actually on family vacation right now with her daughter and the Champ, so don’t believe everything you read. She’s a great mum.”

When and why did Hayden and Wladimir Klitschko split?

The former boxing champ and actress began dating in 2009 when Hayden was just 19 after meeting at a book party launch.

They split two years later, but reconciled in 2013, getting engaged in October of that year.

Kaya was born in December 2014, and Hayden has opened up about her battle with postnatal depression and two stints in rehab as a result.

At the time Hayden said she was, “terrified people weren’t going to accept me.”

Hayden’s Nashville character Juliette was also struggling with postpartum depression at the same time which she says “absolutely helped her.”

“I think it helped me identify what was going on.”

Hayden, 29, and Wladimir, 42, never did make it down the aisle, and they split for good in 2018.

Just last month Hayden opened up about co-parenting with her former fiance insisting their relationship is “still respectful.”

“We still have that friendship with each other, It’s not a situation you find yourself in all that often. But I think we’ve done a really good job,” she said while at the Sharkwater Extinction premiere.

You’ll remember Hayden most prominently for her roles as cheerleader Claire Bennett in Heroes, and Juliette Barnes in Nashville.

But she’s been on screen since she was 11 months old, and grew up with private tutors to accommodate her acting schedule.

She graduated from commercials to soap operas - like One Life to Live - at the age of four, and then began voice acting Disney films such as A Bug's Life and Dinosaur.

At 16 she was cast in Heroes and started dating co-star Milo Ventimiglia.

They dated for two years with Hayden meeting Wladimir shortly after their breakup.

She has opened up about the pitfalls of being a child star, and spoken about how she resisted offers of illegal substances and booze as a young girl, crediting her family for helping her avoid the downward spirals of other child actresses like Amanda Bynes and Lindsay Lohan.

Hayden is now dating Brian Hickerson, who works in real estate, while chasing his dream of becoming an actor.
