"You did a service to women everywhere." How the world reacted to Harvey Weinstein's conviction.

In the hours since Harvey Weinstein’s conviction, two words have been trending on Twitter: Me Too.

As Ronan Farrow wrote, “Today’s outcome, is the result of the decision of multiple women to come forward to journalists and to prosecutors at great personal cost and risk.”

The guilty verdict has been a long time coming for the more than 90 women who have accused the Hollywood movie producer of sexual misconduct.

Farrow of The New Yorker was one of the journalists to break the Weinstein accusations to the mainstream in 2017, alongside Meghan Twohey and Jodi Kantor of The New York Times.

Weinstein’s alleged (at that point) actions sparked a global movement and social media uprising as men and women shared their #MeToo experiences.

Today’s conviction of Weinstein marked a moment in history, with many experts labelling it the “tipping point” and “watershed” trial that will help pave the way for the future of how sexual harassment and rape is treated within justice systems around the world.

Hollywood reacts.

Friends and colleagues of those who have accused Weinstein have also shared their thoughts.

Actress Rosie Perez, who was a witness in the trial to corroborate actress Annabella Sciorra’s claims that Weinstein raped her, wrote: “Harvey Weinstein has been handcuffed and taken to jail. Gutted for my dear friend Annabella Sciorra who told the truth. Yet I congratulate her and all who came forward for their bravery. This is not enough but survivors take courage. This is still a great win.”

Saturday Night Live writer Paula Pell tweeted, “Harvey won’t need his walker anymore. He can hold onto the bars.”

“Today’s historic win in the Weinstein trial is a testament to the bravery and resilience of the #SilenceBreakers, and a victory for survivors everywhere. This is just the beginning,” said actress Reece Witherspoon on Twitter.

Comedian Rosie O’Donnell also took to Twitter, writing: “Off he goes to prison, where he belongs, over 80 women accused him of rape. Imagine the total number?”

Screenwriter Garry Whitta wrote: “Harvey Weinstein is prisoner number 06581138Z at Rikers Island. That’s pretty much the tweet. I just enjoyed writing it.”

Weinstein will be sentenced on March 11.

Trump, Clinton, Weinstein, Epstein...

The elites all run in the same circle. Pitting people against one another is simply a distraction.

So you’d vote for the party whose leader ‘grabs women by the pussy’ The party that tells women what they can and can’t do with their bodies? You must prefer Conservative (backward) leadership.

Yep, both terrible men. Clinton isn't President, though, and hasn't been for decades. Trump is.
