An Italian Ikea store has opened its doors to stray dogs and the pics are almost too much.

Trips to Ikea are a polarising thing.

You’re either a flat-pack fan, or find wandering through the too-perfectly-decorated showrooms your personal variety of hell. Whichever category you fall into, there’s one quick-fix option which would make the experience better, and that’s the inclusion of doggos.

Now, an Ikea in Catania, Italy has done just that.

You see, it’s currently winter in Italy, and the furniture retailer has invited stray dogs into their stores to keep out of the cold. Customers are sharing photos and videos of the happy pups basking on the rugs and couches, keeping warm and being generally adorable.

According to customer, Martine Taccia, the dogs are being well looked after by Ikea employees and some have even been adopted into new homes.

“The dogs receive daily food and pampering from IKEA’s employees and customers,” she told The Dodo.

“Some dogs have even found a family, going home with customers.”

Here are just some of the gloriously puppy-filled photos that have us feeling all warm and fuzzy.

Did you know dogs can actually tell when you’re upset and they want to help.

Now who do we speak to about making this pup-friendly initiative a worldwide thing?

Would you like to see Aussie Ikeas adopt a similar approach? Share your thoughts in the comments please.
