In this week's episode of Nothing To Wear , I had the fashionable and knowledgeable Tamara Holland join me again to chat about current trends, questionable looks and sartorial sightings in the zeitgeist right now.

I talked about how bermuda shorts are all over my algorithm right now. You know the style — longer than regular shorts, hitting somewhere between mid-thigh and the knee. They often feature a cuffed hem and a zip fly with a button and belt loops.

Shirt Tucking Hack

Bermuda shorts are a pretty polarising piece of clothing. I often hear people say they think they're too short to wear them, or they feel like a fisherman or golfer. 

I get it. And I reckon people are put off by the way they're styled on retail websites. Brands pair them with simple basics so as to not distract from the shorts themselves, so the overall look isn't all that appealing.

The trick is to search on Pinterest or Instagram for inspiration on how a good pair of Bermuda shorts can be worn back with what's already in your wardrobe. They look fantastic with simple sandals, a crisp tee and a belt. They're also classic with an oversized button-down shirt and a kitten heel.

I love this style of shorts because the length automatically makes them more appropriate for most occasions and I can run around after my preschooler in them without worrying about flashing my butt cheeks to the world. You can get them in denim (sometimes called jorts), classic twill, or even knitted fabrics. 

I've rounded up a bunch of my favourites below, but remember, ignore the styling in the photos and imagine how you might wear them.
