In case the cries of millions of millennials didn’t quite reach your ears over night, former One Direction star Zayn Malik and Victoria’s Secret model Gigi Hadid have broken up after two years together.
Because of course, why wouldn’t the world mourn a relationship of two strangers whom we’ve never met?
In a statement on Twitter, Malik said the couple had an “incredibly meaningful, loving and fun relationship”:
Two years before that, Malik was forced to cover up a tattoo of ex-fiancée Perrie Edwards after he got her name inked on her arm and proving, um, lightning does strike twice.
Since the news was announced, loyal, hobby-free fans have noticed Malik has unfollowed Hadid, as well as her mother, Yolanda Hadid, on Instagram which is tech/millennial/universal speak for CYA.
