Stick-on swimwear is now a thing and we have some concerns.

If this is the future, then we’d like a refund on life please.

Just in time to rival this season’s butt cheek-bearing swimwear trend, The Black Tape Project at Miami Swim Week gave us a very…. risque trend in the form of stick-on swimwear.

The product is the brain child of artist and creative Joel Alvarez, who is the man behind The Black Tape Project. His vision? Meticulously placed pieces of body tape to cover all the requisite bits that he passes off as swimwear. He even sells rolls of gold and platinum body tape for customers to recreate to look themselves.

And look, each to their own, but this just doesn’t seem like a good idea.

Not only does it require a wearer with nerves, and dare we say it… boobs of steel but we just have a few questions and concerns.

For example:

– What is the removal process like?
– Is it waterproof?
– Is it sweatproof?
– But what if you have body hair?
– What if you have pubic hair?
– How does one create the bikini bottom bit?

Take a look at the pictures yourself.

What do you think of this risque trend? Has fashion gone too far? Tell us in a comment.

And he’s making a men’s version too, right? No? Wonder why?

That sounds like trying to make a bag to keep marbles in out of sticky tape.
