1.Princess Diana’s former private secretary has written a very damning article about Meghan Markle’s baby shower.

Princess Diana’s former private secretary has penned a column for Daily Mail slamming Meghan Markle for her recent trip to New York where she held her first baby shower.

Patrick Jephson accused the new Royal of wanting to further her ‘celebrity’, and compares her to Kate Middleton in a damning article.

“The uproar created in some quarters by Meghan’s brief, but undeniably extravagant, Big Apple excursion could hardly have been greater if she had run naked down Broadway and burned a Union Jack in Times Square,” the former private secretary wrote.

Jephson slammed Markle’s friends for keeping “the media and the Twittersphere intimately informed of every breathless detail of the very un-British custom of the baby shower.”

He went on to question her intentions, saying “it’s hard to remember Meghan’s eager determination to ‘hit the ground running’ in her new royal career and not compare it with her sister-in-law Catherine’s less exciting but, in retrospect, wiser intention ‘to learn the ropes’.

“All Meghan’s running has brought her, at private-jet velocity, to a lonely crossroads. It’s a stark choice between the path of celebrity versus the path of duty, service and sacrifice.”

Leaving no stone unturned, the former Royal staff member describes the Duchess of Sussex as a “divorced, media-smart and ambitious celebrity, empowered by all the arsenal of right-on feminism.”

Well then.

2. Apparently, Harry Potter stars Emma Watson and Tom Felton are now dating.

Harry Potter fans, rejoice!

A Harry Potter theory has emerged which is without a doubt the best one yet: That Emma Watson and Tom Felton are dating.

To refresh, Emma Watson played Hermione Granger, and Tom Felton played Draco Malfoy – our favourite villain of all time.

The rumours come after the pair have been spending a lot of time together recently, as documented by their Instagram profiles.

Exhibit A, this black and white photo posted a few days ago:

Watson posted this gorgeous photo to her Instagram, which Watson took.

And then there was this selfie and video of the pair hanging out.

When Felton was asked about the rumours by US Weekly, he denied that they were dating, saying “Lovely Emma. We do see each other quite a lot actually.”

“We just don’t always post pictures about it. Everyone loves the reunion of it. We’re reuniting all the time we just don’t always post it on Instagram.”

But we will still be dreaming that they are.

3. The Bachelor star Matty Johnson admits he ‘hasn’t been the best dad’ after potentially forgetting he and Laura Byrne are having a baby.

The news that Laura Byrne and Matty J, who fell in love on The Bachelor, were having a baby together, was met with great excitement.

But even though fans actively keep tabs on how their pregnancy is progressing, all thanks to social media, apparently Matty has… forgotten. Just a bit.

The soon-to-be father revealed on his breakfast radio show that he often finds himself living each day as if he’s not about to become a parent in June.

“I have been probably not the best dad the past couple of weeks,” he said on Saturday’s Nova 96.9’s Matt, Sarah & Matty J.

“It sounds weird and I know you’ll look at me when I say this, but you kind of forget that the baby is there.”

Laura joined the segment on Saturday, assuring Matty’s co-hosts and listeners that her baby bump serves as more than a gentle reminder of their future parental responsibilities.

“It’s like it’s just dawned on him that we are having a baby and that that’s actually happening and it’s going to be here in three month’s time,’ the 34-year-old said.

The couple announced their pregnancy in December last year, with Laura later sharing their personal experience with miscarriage.

4. Amy Schumer has shared a very personal message with fans about why she canceled her upcoming tour.

In more celebrity baby news, Amy Schumer has cancelled her tour,  prioritising "[her] health and the baby".

Amy announced her pregnancy in October last year, after marrying her now-husband Chris Fischer eight months prior.

"Due to complications from hyperemesis I am not cleared to fly for the next couple weeks," the 37-year-old actress and comedian wrote on Instagram.

"I have a pretty good attitude about it and some days I feel good for a couple hours. But mostly it sucks," she continued.

"I wanted to push through and do my shows. Because I hate letting people down and I do love stand up and money!"

We're glad Amy is taking the time off she needs.

5. With three words, Jordyn Woods finally acknowledged the Khloe Kardashian cheating scandal.

This week, the Kardashian family was turned upside down when news broke of an incestuous cheating scandal.

On Wednesday, celebrity news websites E! and TMZ reported Khloe Kardashian ended her two-year relationship with NBA basketball player Tristan Thompson over allegations he cheated on her with her sister Kylie Jenner’s best friend Jordyn Woods.

Once again, but a tad slower.

Khloe Kardashian broke up with Tristan Thompson because he *allegedly* cheated on her with her sister, Kylie Jenner’s, best friend, Jordyn Woods.

Now, Jordyn has spoken for the first time about the cheating allegations at the unfortunately-timed launch event for her new Eylure false eyelashes line

Shown on social media footage of the model’s appearance on Thursday night, Jordyn summed up her week with three words.

“Thank you guys for coming out and supporting me through everything that’s going on… it’s been real,” she said, Entertainment Tonight reports.

A source also told the publication that Jordyn was low-key at the event and “was hiding in the back area the majority of the time until it was her time to talk and thank the people that showed up.”

"It’s a stark choice between the path of celebrity versus the path of duty, service and sacrifice."

Yep. The impression I get is that Meghan wants both: the pomp and importance of Royalty (with disregard protocol or dignity), plus a life of a celebrity (now conveniently bankrolled and given lots of attention due to her husband's family). Compare and contrast with the way other "commoners" have married into royal families: Grace Kelly, Mary Donaldson, Charlene Wittstock, Kate Middleton - they all made sacrifices, taking on and adapting to the new role given to them by marriage.

Meghan would be better off if she hired someone in the ilk of Patrick Jephson for advice, rather than rely on her celebrity friends. Her friends did her no favour with that baby shower, unless of course it was their way of sending a message on behalf of Meghan that she will do whatever she pleases, negative publicity aside.

I'm inclined to think it's not the friends sending the message, but Meghan herself. Nobody was twisting her arm to have a baby shower in the US; nobody made her conduct it so publicly or with as much open merching. There's a good article in one of the tabloids today about how misadvised it is to try to blend celebrity with royal life - something the royals have conscientiously avoided doing. Meghan appears to be trying to retain (and grow) a celebrity status on the back of her royal appointment. It's just crass.

Wouldn't you love to be a fly on the wall at the palace? It would be fascinating to see what they all actually think.

Apparently the Kensington Palace media sites were bombarded with negative comments about Meghan and the baby shower. I bet there is some serious damage control going on, but is she doing a Diana and going 'rogue'?
