Why so many people have very strong feelings about Meghan Markle's 'nude' tights.

SHHH. Stop what you’re doing, please.

Because we have news regarding Meghan Markle’s choice (OR WAS IT?) to wear nude tights at Prince Charles’ 70th birthday.

If you blinked, or heaven-forbid only skimmed the photographs of 36-year-old Markle at Buckingham Palace, you may have missed the seemingly insignificant detail that she was, indeed, wearing stockings.

Nude stockings.

For those who have been closely following the developing story of Markle and her calves, you will know that in the past - particularly during her engagement - she chose to go without tights, much to the dismay of royal watchers.

You see, according to a number of reports, the Queen has mandated that royal women cover their legs in nude tights, a rule strictly adhered to by Kate Middleton.

And it would seem that ever since Markle became the Duchess of Sussex, stockings are part of the uniform.

On May 22nd, Markle deviated from her usual bare leg look, but there was something a little unusual about the, er, colour.

Standing next to Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, many noticed that Markle's tights were actually lighter in colour than the 70 year old's, which seems odd considering the difference in natural skin tone.

One tweet read, "Can you please tell The Duchess of Sussex’s stylist to go and buy the right colour tights for her to suit her skin-tone?
She looks lovely as always but sort the tights out..." with many agreeing the tights were far too pale for her.

We might not know if the Queen ordered Markle to wear tights in public, or if it was simply a decision that complemented her outfit, but hopefully the palace can, at the very least, find a pair of nude stockings that embrace, rather than disguise, Markle's beautiful skin.

What do you think of Meghan's 'nude' tights?

I just assumed she chose white tights because they matched the outfit. Talk about reading too much into something.

Too much fuss over an average looker and the royal attire doesn't suit her at all.
