The ferocious backflip of Meghan Markle's brother.

For everything Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and the Royal Wedding in one convenient place, visit our Royal Wedding hub.

In April last year, Meghan Markle’s now infamous half-sister Samantha Grant announced she was writing a book. It was to be called The Diary of Princess Pushy’s Sister, and the crux was to be exactly as it sold itself.

Almost immediately, Markle’s family were firm on the line of her defence. Samantha was out of line, they said. It wasn’t fair.

In an interview with Mail Online at the time, Grant’s brother and Markle’s half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr, disparaged the way his sister was attacking the limelight.

“She’s just doing it because she’s got nothing better to do and it’s what she’s always done. Her whole life has just been about being a pain in the a**.

“It’s why nobody talks to her and hasn’t for a long, long time. Leave Meghan alone already – it’s ridiculous,” he said.

Why the world is so obsessed with Meghan Markle in the lead-up to the royal wedding. (Post continues after audio.)

Fast forward a single year, and Thomas Markle’s name, face and most ferocious quotes are bandied across news outlets across the world.

It began in an interview with The Mirror late last month:

“She’s clearly forgotten her roots,” he said. “It’s torn my entire family apart.”

Later that week, he sat down for an interview with Melissa Doyle for Channel 7’s Sunday Night. He told Doyle while the family may be “fractured”, they are, by definition, still family.

“She can’t forget about her family, because we’re never gonna go away [sic]. We’re always gonna be her family,” he said.

And then came his most extraordinary attack of all, penning a scathing open letter to Prince Harry about his sister and why it is a mistake for the two to marry.

“As more time passes to your royal wedding, it became very clear that this is the biggest mistake in royal wedding history,” he wrote, as per In Touch. “Meghan Markle is obviously not the right woman for you.”

Markle went on to call his sister a “jaded, shallow, conceited woman that will make a joke of you and the royal family heritage.”

And then, the clincher:

“Not to mention, to top it all off, she doesn’t invite her own family and instead invites complete strangers to the wedding. Who does that?” he said.

“You and the royal family should put an end to this fake fairytale wedding before it’s too late.”

Interesting, you could note, that Thomas Markle’s tune changed rather dramatically when it was reported the royal wedding invites had been dispatched. And one didn’t land in his letter box.

Whether she married a Royal or not some of her family members seem to be seething with envy over this girls who's made her own way in the world.
She's been outspoken and an activist since she was a little girl following in her accomplished mother's footsteps.
Notice how we never hear from Meghan's mother.......or her father either.
Her parents are invited to the wedding.
They'll meet her new husband and call him son.........and now doubt they'll meet his "granny" who will be a member of their extended family too.

The British Royals are practiced at creating a tight circle around their family and remaining reasonably tight-lipped about their private business .
And let's not forget the "elephant in the room" - SECURITY.
The physical safety of that family and it's children will always be a priority.
I actually expect Meghan's nasty relatives to be cautioned by top British security to keep their spiteful comments & reckless lapses of judgment to themselves in future.

Considering Meghan's family live in the USA, I doubt British security would have much influence over them.

Wow. Stand back, dude, you wouldn’t want to singe your eyebrows while you’re burning that bridge! This guy and the sister go on about how fame hungry and conniving Meghan is, talk about the pot calling the kettle black. Well, all they’re doing is showing the world that Meghan is right not to have anything to do with them. They’ll be set for life now, won’t they. Any time they’re a bit hard up, they can call some trashy tabloid, and talk about what a selfish user their sister is, and how they can’t understand why *she’s* tearing the family apart. What a pathetic bunch.

I think she cooked her own goose with her family when she said at Christmas time that it was the first time she had a 'real family'. Even the rogue Uncle Garry ( of Maison le bang bang fame) was invited to William and Kate's wedding.

I mean, you can see why she’d feel like that!

Haha, she should have gone all in and said it was the first time she had a "not completely insane" family.
