Edwina Bartholomew realised there was a ‘vagina’ on her Oscars dress, but that wasn’t about to stop her from wearing it.
The TV personality appeared on Kyle and Jackie O today to laugh off criticisms that her frock, designed by Rachel Gilbert, had a detail to the left of her lap that resembled the female anatomy.
The 32-year-old told the radio duo the ‘vagina’ was first pointed out to her by her “gay producer”.
“He said it ‘it looks like a vagina’. I did think it was going to happen, (that someone would say it) but I got through the whole day and no one said it,” she said on air.
“Now it’s there anyway, I thought it was great. It was sparkly and gorgeous… I did know they might call it ‘the vagina dress’ and I still wore it anyway,” Edwina said.
Followers of both the Sunrise Facebook page and Edwina’s Instagram account pointed out their confusion over the dress yesterday.
“Your face and body are to die for…. But, sorry, the thing on the dress looks like a part of a female anatomy. I know I am not the only person thinking this…,” one commenter wrote of Facebook.
“It would have been a lovely dress bar the anatomy hanging off it. Love the colour,” added another, before everyone cut to the chase and unanimously decided: Edwina had a vagina on her dress.

“Lose the vajayjay and it would have been perfect,” a follower admitted.
Some thought the added detail looked more like a doughnut than a vagina. “Pretty colour but the high neckline and donut thing on the front, just doesn’t look right,” wrote a follower on Edwina’s Instagram.
Another thought it looked more like a uterus, asking, “Nice but why is there a uterus on the outside of your dress?”

It looks ridiculous, but if that's what a vagina looks like then I am seriously out of touch.
And what does the producer's sexuality have to do with it? Would the story have not been made public if he was heterosexual (but then, I guess, he's have some vague idea what a vagina might really look like).
