Beauty diary of a film première - Gracie Otto

Admit it – you’ve always wondered how actors, directors and other film industry types decide on their hair, makeup and style when attending red carpet events. When all eyes and lenses are on you, the pressure to get the whole ensemble perfect must be scarily high.

Earlier this year, talented Australian film-maker and extremely stylish woman, Gracie Otto, attended premières around the world for her latest film, The Last Impresario. The movie chronicles the fascinating life of Michael White – the most famous man you’ve never heard of. White was the producer behind groundbreaking stage and screen productions like The Rocky Horror Show and Monty Python. He was also a notorious man-about-town. In the film Gracie interviews everyone from Anna Wintour to Naomi Watts. Given the stylish company her subject kept, looking good was especially important.

Here, Gracie talks us through the various looks she wore on the promotion trail in Dubai, London, and back here in Australia – and how each location influenced the hairstyles, makeup and clothing she wore.

You can follow Gracie on Instagram at @gracieotto and on Twitter at @gracieotto. The Last Impresario is in cinemas now. Go see it! Or at least watch the trailer:
