Best and worst bits of the week

Time for our weekly round up and our best and worst.

So what’s been happening?

We debated a Voluntary Code of Conduct around photoshopping and retouching, female quotas on boards, giving of gifts on the birth of a baby and nature versus nurture. We’ve chatted about the existence of God, the trauma of Ingrid Betancourt’s hostage ordeal and we looked at the Federal chaplaincy program in schools and the idea that pregnancy has become  a competitive sport.

Some thoughts we pondered –  how long you should wait before sex with a new partner, would you pay to try on clothes and how much privacy we have on Facebook. We shared our dilemmas and what was happening for us in 1997.

We laughed over this BRILLIANT book  – if you haven’t seen it you should click here, it may become a firm favourite.

On the video front we shared the power of words, an interesting  social experiment. and we even watched a love story about a  milk carton.  We also showed you some  undies we wouldn’t be found wearing and we had a sneak peek at the final Oprah show

Don’t forget to look through these gorgeous frocks here and here

Phew. Now it’s time to look at our best and worst bits of the week. I’ll start.

Best: I am going to Bathurst this weekend for a friend’s 21st. I have never been to Bathurst but I’m sure I will enjoy it (even though it’s supposed to be absolutely freezing there at the moment… I plan to take every jumper I own and wear them all at once. And maybe add a sleeping bag over the top). If anyone’s got any tips for fun things to do in Bathurst I’d love to hear them..

Worst: This is a very first-world problem, but I am a total Masterchef fiend and haven’t had the chance to catch an episode this week. I’m kind of having withdrawals.

On my mind: This is also food-related. Rick and I are having a week-long debate over whether chocolate mousse cake is actually cake. He believes cake is only cake if it’s spongy. I say cake is cake and that’s that.

What were your best and worst bits of the week? And don’t forget to tell us what’s on your mind.

Plus, here are the pics we’re talking about this week…

really good week! best was that I got in a really good group for camp, and to be honest really no worsts. life is great right now! except for a minor cold. did this for a school project. me and my friend doing a cover of hallelujah by leonard cohen. it would be great if you could view it and get your friends on to it! :)

Best - going to the wedding of my gorgeous cousin whose family are incredible and unfortuately do not see enough of!

Worst - Finding out that a friend's partner had safely delivered a set of beautiful twin girls, two sisters for their brother Jack. Sadly that same evening, she suffered a brain anurism and was put on life support for two days hoping that she would recover. Sadly, the family and her partner made the very brave decision last night to turn off the life support as there was no brain activity present. Life moves in mysterious ways sometimes and the thought of a 30 year old man having to bury his partner and then bring up 3 children alone sends shivers down my spine.
