'Everyone wants to know what Bella Hadid has done to her face. Here's why I don't.'

It’s the talk of the town.

Everyone wants to know what Bella Hadid has done to her face.

Is it lip fillers? A new nose? Botox? Cheek fillers?

“First comes the nose job, then comes the lips, oh and don’t forget the built in cheeks,” one commenter wrote on a photograph of Bella.

The comments are relentless.

So relentless, that the 21-year-old has had to publicly address all those circling rumours about her face.

“People think I got all this surgery and I did this or that. And you know what? We can do a scan of my face, darling,” the model told In Style.

“I’m scared of putting fillers into my lips. I wouldn’t want to mess anything up.”

Bella, who admits she was bullied for her distinctive facial features in school, has been subject to constant questioning of her looks for years.

But Bella Hadid’s experience is nothing new.

For months, we heard the never-ending questions directed at Kylie Jenner about her lips.

At the time, Kylie was just 16 years old.

“These plastic surgery rumours hurt my feelings, to be honest, and are kinda insulting,” Kylie wrote on Twitter.

With every bit of their lives, bodies and faces mercilessly scrutinised on the daily, it’s no wonder that celebrities like Bella and Kylie wish to keep some personal aspects of their lives private.

After all, is it even any of our business what a celebrity chooses to do to their face?

We are so obsessed with celebrity bodies and faces that we often forget that these “bikini bodies”, “lip fillers” and “baby bumps” belong to real people.

We are so obsessed with them that we believe we have some stake in what they choose to change about their appearances – as if their personal lives are our public property.

If a celebrity wants plastic surgery, then so be it.

Whether Bella Hadid has had plastic surgery is none of our business; it’s her face and she can do what she damn well wants with it.

I wish people would stop making her a 'thing'. She is only a model because her mother Yolanda was one and used her influence to get her into it. Yolanda was on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for a few years and it showed her trying to push Bella and Gigi into modelling. She thought girls shouldn't play sports like soccer, and thought going to uni was a waste for her daughters. I remember one episode Gigi was moving out and she was presented with a going away party with a big cake. Yolanda admonished Gigi for having a slice of her own cake. She has often said if Gigi feel like a snack they should have a couple of almonds, and that's it. I really wish people would not reward her mother's controlling and harmful attitudes by making them out to be a thing. Ignoring them and they cease to be relevant is what I wish.

I agree. I don't think anyone, famous or not, should have to discuss any cosmetic surgery they've chosen to undergo. Completely understand that people are curious, but having cosmetic surgery is a private matter.

For celebs, it becomes damned if they confess (they become judged), damned if they don't (they get hounded about not being honest).
