Mamamia is going to be on YOUR radio. Every day 6-7pm. We have partnered with Southern Cross Austereo to create a daily radio show and it’s going to be awesome sauce.
Many of you already know and love Em from her Mamamia posts – the girl is talented. She sings, she dances, she writes, she presents and she has the perfect balance of irreverance, smarts and lack of snark that makes her the top shelf choice for host.
And Dave Thornton? You are going to love his guts. He is a comedian, occasional presenter on The Project and his mother is a sex educator. Like Em, he’s smart, funny, warm and the exact guy you’d love to be your brother/boyfriend/son/mate.
I will be contributing via phone each day from MM HQ at the start of the show but it’s very much going to be about engagement with callers (YOU) who will be the radio version of commenters (YOU).
Alternatively, you can just listen and be like the radio version of readers.
It’s so high-tech I need to take a moment……
Here is the media release which went out this morning:
TODAY NETWORK’S NEW SHOW IS WHAT EVERYONE’S TALKING ABOUT!
Hitting the airwaves from Monday 6th August between 6pm-7pm around Australia, the Today Network is excited to announce the launch of a brand new weeknight show ‘Mamamia Today’.
Television and radio presenter Em Rusciano teams up with funny man Dave Thornton, to bring the much loved Mamamia online brand to life across the Today Network’s metro stations. They’ll be joined regularly by Mamamia herself, Mia Freedman, to chat about all the hot topics that everyone’s talking about – from fashion to pop culture to food, and everything in between.
Mamamia.com.au is one of Australia’s most popular websites for females under 40, discussing the latest trends, issues and what everyone’s buzzing about. On Mamamia, ‘everything is up for discussion’ and ‘just like a real conversation with women, you never know where the conversation will go’.
Following in the footsteps of the Mamamia site, ‘Mamamia Today’ will focus on being inclusive – all topics, views, people and things will be on the table for discussion. Fans of the site will know that it’s a very active experience that encourages engagement – and the team are excited about the real time engagement opportunities a radio show combined with a social media and online extensions will offer.
Mia Freedman says: “I couldn’t be more excited about Mamamia partnering with Southern Cross Austereo for this new daily show. At Mamamia.com.au we know how to tap into the topics women are talking about and springboard them into conversations. It’s real-time engagement with women which lends itself so perfectly to radio. Em Rusciano is hugely popular with Mamamia readers and Dave is about to be. They both have the perfect mix of irreverance, smarts and authenticity that embody the Mamamia brand. I can’t wait to work with them.”
Returning to the Southern Cross Austereo studios after a stint hosting The Project and regular appearances on The Circle, Em is a regular contributor to Mamamia.com.au and began her career with the Today Network’s breakfast team on 92.9 in Perth. Mate Dave Thornton (the duo worked together on The Project) is known for his free flowing humor and extensive experience across TV, radio and stage, including regular appearances at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
Dave Cameron, Head of Today Network for Southern Cross Austereo said: “We’re so excited to work alongside one of Australia’s biggest online brands for under 40 females. Mamamia.com.au has an amazing engagement level with its online community, and the radio show “Mamamia Today” will bring that same compelling interactive content to life on air for Today Network listener.”

I just wanted to make a comment about the vaccination debate… I am not immunised and neither are my four healthy boys ranging in age from 23 down to 9 yrs, i believe that it is a personal choice on weather to vaccinate or not but i do believe that if you chose to do so then you need to be educated on the pros and cons on both sides, never should a person be bullied into a choice and let no one ever say that we dont have to do any research as the scientists have done it for us, which was a quote i heard the other day, all we have to do is look back in history and ask all the poor people who were told that a morning sickness pill was not harmfull! and look at the children and their childrens birth defects all because it was harmless or so they thought, and im sure they were told that research was done and proven to be safe, so what i am saying is do your research as i have done look at the ingredients of what is in vaccinations its not just the disease that is going in to your child and these are the things that cause the problems that i personally have wittnesed not all will have reactions but a great lot do just as not all who catch the disease have a bad reaction just as some who do will, those who have a weakness in that area are going to have the reaction no matter what way they get it, oh and also a comment was made that an un vaccinated child puts others at risk? i ask the question on how this is possible as their child is supposedly immune by vaccination? makes you wonder why and as a fact my younger boys caught chiken pox earlier this year from vaccinated children at school not the other way round and they got over it better than those with vaccinations, and my sister in law has just done hooping cough with her vaccinated children and they were very sick although immunised i could go on but i think i have nicely made my point, so there should be no bulling for either way as it is a personal choice, thanks for reading, and let it be known that it is not my intention to upset or affend any one!!

Heard your radio segment on Monday 5th November re what foods you’d eaten throughout a day as opposed to ? I can’t remember, some other weird vegan pill popping seaweed slurping fandango, and when it got to the part where you ended with a bloody mary….i nearly wet my pants in my car on the way home and looked across to the car next to me and they were looking at me weirdly! It was such a funny segment. I love it, I love you guys. You come across great and make me laugh. Keep it up – Mum of four (who on occasion has had the same daily food intake (ok once maybe) AND have had nipple experience similar. Love it, keep going.xxx Melissa

Managed to listen to the 2nd half tonight and I really enjoyed it! Em and Dave seem to have excellent chemistry and I nearly pissed myself when the caller told the story of farting in the restaurant when her boyfriend proposed to her. Great job Mamamia! xo
loading...
This is fabulous news .. Can’t wait. Tired of the negativity though even if it’s only from a few. The rest of us though can see it’s a great step. All the best.
loading...
Will we be able to listen in Newcastle? I can’t stand that awful Kyle Sandilands and the sooner he’s out of a job the better!
loading...
forgive my ignorance, but will we be able to listen to the show in Canberra? If so, which station? I doubt I’ll be able to listen as the time slot is very awkward family-wise, but I’d love to try!
loading...
I just read that Mamamia is one of the most popular websites for women under 40. Now I feel old!
loading...
How old is too old for this site?
loading...
Such good news! I’ve been a massive fan of Em for a while now and Dave is a total legend.
I understand the Austereo issue, but let’s be frank. If it were such a massive issue, why hasn’t the public turned off Hamish & Andy, Fifi & Jules, etc. 2DAYFM is only one station in the Austereo Network. So should we hold every other Austereo Station responsible for what happens in Sydney?
Let’s get behind MM radio so that maybe Kyle’s show has no other option but to be canned. Wouldn’t that be nice?
loading...
I have loved reading Em’s articles here, and I REALLY love Dave! I have seen his comedy show, I listen to his podcast and think he’s charming, smart and super cute. Which all makes him a perfect co-host to work with Em, and to join Mamamia!!!
Congratulations to everyone, Mia, Em and Dave, on such a step forward. It’s great for Mamamia, and I hope it’s great for Austero too.
loading...
this makes me so excited! as a communications student we always discuss ‘convergence’ in the media and this is exactly it! i love the idea of accessing information through different mediums, and mamamia is awesome.
loading...
Please bring the show to 104.7 Canberra and the other regional stations (Sea & NXFM) we’re a part of the today network too
loading...
Melbourne too!
loading...
Dave Thornton is too hot for radio! Send him my way, please.
Also, it always disappoints me when people come out of the woodwork to poo-poo someone’s success – under the guise of a ‘valid’ reason. Get a life, haters!
loading...
Yeah ! Another one of those “new” pen names that pop up….suddenly.
I find your comment about Dave extremey sexist. Imagine the ta-doo had the same sentiments been expressed about Em or Mia ?!!!….by a male !
I dislike double standards, and I don’t care if women are the target audience of the site.
loading...
1. Bradley, I’ve been commenting on Mamamia under this name for years.
2. The comment about Dave was a compliment – I think he’s attractive. I’m sure Mia or Em wouldn’t mind if someone said they were attractive.
3. I don’t think the radio gig is a double standard. That’s just my opinion.
loading...
Yeah, get a life, haters! Go back into that woodwork where nobody can hear you poo-pooing on about ‘valid’ stuff like ‘ethics’ and wanting ‘women’ to be treated with ‘respect’!
loading...
I love Dave too Yeah! Do you listen to his podcast? Check out Slapbang if you get a chance.
And Bradley, I don’t think Yeah! was being inappropriately explicit, so I’m unsure what your problem is. I think a similar comment about Em or Mia would be fine. Perhaps you could explain further? I’m sure no-one supports sexist comments, no matter whom they are made by or about.
loading...
You honestly believe that there would not have been torrents of outrage had the comment “She’s so hot” been made by a male and directed at Em & Mia ?
I don’t believe that I can be any clearer.
loading...
Ah, turns out I did understand you, I just disagree. No, I don’t think there would have been any outrage at all if someone had made this comment about Mia or Em (whether they were a man or a woman). I think adults accept that people can find other people hot. In fact, with the limited knowledge I have of Em and Mia, I think both of them would have been flattered, as I’m sure Dave would be.
I don’t really understand the emphasis you’ve put on how this comment would have been received differently based on the gender of the commenter and of the subject. It seems to be a pretty positive, innocuous comment to me, unlike your comments, which seem rather confrontational to me.
Anyway, thanks for clarifying your comment, I really appreciate it. Have a great day.
loading...
Yay! You’re on a roll this year Mia. What next? Mamamia the movie? A political party? You go girl!
loading...
Political party ???????
Whatever you are on, I want some of !
loading...
How will the radio show present as “new” ?
Will there be discussion about new issues or will what has been run on the MM site during the course of the day/past week be rehashed ? Will you be allowing listeners to speak their piece or will audience participation be limited to tweets and emails ?
Is 6 to 7pm the best time to test run a new program when prospective listeners are listening to their families, preparing meals, doing general family type things and watching The Project ?
loading...
You’ll have to tune in on Monday to find out
loading...
Nothing new, then !
Ahhhhhhhhhhh………..

Sorry, but the whole ‘Austereo are female-focused and signing the Mamamia team is proof they care about women’ argument just doesn’t wash with me. Austereo have done nothing but provide opportunities for Kyle Sandilands and other presenters to engage in misogynistic, hateful crap, and then pay a bit of lip service to community standards after the fact. Their partnership with Mamamia provides them with a perfect smokescreen of female-friendly acceptability while doing absolutely NOTHING to change the actual attitudes they display toward women. I’m really disappointed in this news.
loading...
Yep, I was excited about the radio show. I love Dave and Em, however, so disappointing to see its with Austereo. It feels a bit shallow… I thought there was a boycott going on…
loading...
How exciting! Congrats Mia and Mamamia team, the show sounds like it’ll be fantastic. xxx
loading...
This is so great. Radio is the natural complement to mamamia. Can’t wait.
loading...
Congratulations Mamamia!
I am a huge fan of both Em and Dave, if you have never seen Dave at the comedy festival I highly recommend.
A massive improvement to the current repeat of Kyle and Jackie O’s breakfast show in Melbourne, I will actually be happy to tune into fox at 6pm instead of switching it off after Fifi and Jules!
loading...
AMAZING, AMAZING NEWS!
Can’t wait to tune in!
loading...
Congratulations all you hardworking Mamamia-ians! This is super exciting! So exciting I’m probably going to use an exclamation mark at the end of every sentence! Yep – looks like it! And I think it’s great that you’re partnering with Southern Cross Austereo because the best way to change a culture is to change it from within! Windmill high-fives, everyone!!!
loading...
i hope you will podcast it.
loading...
I can’t tell you how excited I am to turn the radio on at 6 o’clock on Monday. Big congrats to everyone involved, y’all rock X
loading...
How exciting! I cant wait to tune in! I second (third?) the idea to do podcasts, I will do my best to tune in between 6-7 but that’s dinner, bath, bed time. I would love to be able to listen at another time.
Congrats guys, here’s to a hugely successful radio adventure!
An aside, I just want to add that I am sick of the haters. I’m all for expressing my opinion and have no issue with people giving constructive critiscism but the recent “wah, wah, wah, you suck MM” is getting old. By all means leave feedback, I think MM are generally very responsive to their readers concerns but if you really don’t like the site any more then don’t read it. I know I will never agree with everything written here but I love the mix of stories and look forward to heaps more!
loading...
Congrats, MM. This sucesss is well deserved by your hardworking team. That’s all.
loading...
Thanks for showing my post – I really, really, really want you guys to prevail.
I’ve been working in and around the TV and Radio Industry for the last 30yrs so I’ve picked up a few things.
Stay focussed and enjoy the ride – and always have “plan B”……lol.
loading...
Congrats Mamamia! Unfortunately 6-7pm is the witching hour here with a toddler so I doubt I’ll be able to tune in but I’ll try my best.
loading...
Hah.
Dave Cameron (in the gallery).
Pretty sure that is the elusive man known as ‘Grumpy Dave’ to Hamish and Andy fans?
loading...
That is exactly the thought I had Peppy! rump Dave doesn’t look so grumpy!
loading...
Yes! The very same!
loading...
Haven’t been coming to MM very often lately….gosh, it’s changed. Where’s Rick gone?
loading...
I miss Rick too. Sigh.
loading...
Rick’s working for The Australian now – newspapers are in his blood! He still comes back to comment here though
loading...
Lucinda……… Would it kill you to say something positive? Just once?
loading...
Geez Zara she only asked a question!?
loading...
Sorry, I see Lucinda making negative comments on a lot of posts. Just doesn’t seem like she ever has anything nice to say!
loading...
I’ve got to say, I’m a little disappointed to see MM joining with the radio network that thinks conditions like not demeaning women are “unworkable”. Southern Cross Austereo is not exactly a female friendly network. I wouldn’t be working with them.
loading...
I see this as a sign that Austereo *is* becoming female focused.
loading...
Hi Cate,
I agree about austereo’s history with Kyle, but as far as I can see this new mamamia show will be replacing the repeat of Kyle and Jackie O’s breakfast show that we get in the other states at 6pm. Massive Win in my opinion, and a big reduction of Kyle’s audience if his show is not repeated at all or repeated at a less higher rating time.
loading...
You’re going to call me a hater but surely you’re not serious? 3 months ago you had numerous articles calling for a boycott of the Today radio network and all of its advertisers because of Kyle and Jackie O and now suddenly you’re calling them a company that shares your vision. As a male i normally really like your site as it gives me a different perspective on news and views but this is the saddest sell out that i’ve ever seen. You’ve let your brand and your readership down by selling out to the lowes common denominator. I bet Kyle is happy having you in his camp though.
loading...
I completely agree. Its great that MM is expanding and they totally deserve it but to there?
loading...
Well said Max. I am surprised by this turn of events. It seems ideals are only paper thin.
loading...
I’m confused. Isn’t it a win for the Kyle haters? The hour of power has lost its prized spot to Mamamia. Would you prefer Austereo keep Kyle and Jackie O there?
loading...
Hi there Max Power
Thanks for your comment. Not going to call you a ‘hater’, I get why you’re concerned. MM did cover the offensive comments made by Kyle on his show and I remember the conversation around people voting with their ears. Media doesn’t exist without an audience and the power of the consumer to tell networks like Austereo what they want to hear is big.
Now, as Mia says below, Austereo are a very female focused station and MM’s new partnership with them shows that they HAVE listened. Australian women (and a fair few men!) are saying that this is the sort of great content they want to hear the airwaves.
Austereo have seen the Mamamia site and they love it – especially the community feel and the fact our readers and so engaged, switched on and ready to share an opinion. They’ve recognised that this is what people want to tune in for – intelligent debate presented in an interesting and fun way.
I can’t wait for it to start.
Jamila
loading...
Jamila, so what happens when Kyle next says something like he did the last time? (And that’s ‘when’ not ‘if.) As part of the same network, would MM Today ignore/criticise/support? And MM Online?
loading...
‘Austereo are a very female focused station’ ?! Really?! Come on Jamila!
loading...
Im a regular MM reader and I’m pretty sure that they were articles covering the outcry against Kyle and Jackie O, but not actually telling people to boycott? They always show perspectives without TELLING people what to do. That’s what I like about the site. I dont think they are selling out, I think they are just going with the best station for their target audience. I’ll be tuning in and I’m sure lots of people I know will be too.
loading...
Not to try and act smart but this is this is a direct quote from Emily Hehir’s article.
“We must make it clear to companies who promote and associate with these archaic attitudes that we won’t stand for it. This week I joined with over 26,000 others, calling on advertisers to boycott the Kyle and Jackie O show as long as it provided a platform for bullying, abuse and misogyny. The extraordinary public reaction to the petition I created – and the ensuing exodus of advertisers – shows that it will be harder and harder for brands to get away with perpetuating the lowest common denominator.. “
loading...
Hi Max,
Firstly, thanks for your feedback. We’re reading every comment – as we always do.
Just to follow up on what Jamilla said, we have not partnered with Kyle Sandilands. He is not hosting the Mamamia show.
We have partnered with the Southern Cross Austereo network who are responsible for many many other shows including Hamish and Andy and Fifi & Jules.
I have had many many conversations behind the scenes and I am completely confident that they share our commitment to what we want the Mamamia Today show to be.
I’m afraid I cannot ever be responsible for the views of every other person employed by a huge organisation. Just like one opinion writer who is employed for a large newspaper company does not speak on behalf of everyone else at that company (eg: Andrew Bolt!).
I’m genuinely sorry that you feel we have somehow let you down but we are more fiercely protective of the Mamamia brand than anyone and would never do anything or partner with anyone who didn’t share our vision and passion for Mamamia.
Southern Cross Austereo absolutely do and that’s why we’re so excited to be working with the company responsible for shows as iconic as Hamish & Andy.
loading...
Mia, what happens a little down the track and kyle says something offensive again and causes outrage, and we all know it will happen again,
Will you have a post up slamming him and his actions and calling for people to vote with their feet and turn Austero off, or is it going to be silence from the team now because you are in bed with them and you have to stay quiet??
loading...
That was my question as well (above).
loading...
Sometimes programs can be on the same station but have differing opinions. This happened a couple of months ago, it certainly made for interesting radio. Would like to think MM radio will take the same approach if they don’t agree with another program. http://m.heraldsun.com.au/entertainment/neil-mitchell-leaves-derryn-hinch-hanging-in-radio-dust-up/story-e6frf96o-1226373004739
loading...
Hi Jackson and Lulu,
That’s a really interesting question albeit a hypothetical one (that’s what politicians say when they don’t want to answer something – Jamila taught me that).
I think what happened with Kyle was a pretty huge deal, became national news and had enormous consequences for him, the show and the company.
I believe that measures have been put in place to ensure nothing of that magnitude happens again. I’ve also listened to Kyle and Jackie O’s show before and since and the show has certainly changed. For the better I believe.
But as I have said above, Mamamia Today is a completely different show albeit on the same network. There are many many other shows broadcast by Southern Cross Austereo including Fifi & Jules, Hamish & Andy, and Matt & Jo and we will proudly be one of them.
Back to your question: I don’t know many radio shows either on the same network or different networks that discuss other broadcasters’ content. I listen to A LOT of radio on many different stations and for that reason, I don’t imagine it would be discussed.
As for Mamamia.com.au…..well, we are not constrained from publishing opinion posts by our partnership with Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) if that’s what you’re suggesting.
In the same way that we assess the many hundreds of potential stories and posts and news items that we cover every single day, we would assess anything Kyle-related on its merits.
I hope that answered your (hypothetical) question!
loading...
But here is the thing, I was so outrage by Kyle’s antics that I honestly have boycotted the sponsors as well (to the best of my ability! Without becoming a wet blanket)
So now Mamamia as a brand is associated with Austereo who employ Kylie!
I don’t want to be a hater but this is very confusing!
Just cause Austereo has the right market doesn’t make it the right fit!
Sky News wasn’t the target demographic and i know you aren’t there anymore but i am guessing that’s because TV wasn’t the best medium rather than not having the target demographic!
loading...
That’s exactly my dilema too! As someone who has actvely boycotted any businesses advertising on 2day fm, I find myself in the same position… confused! Surely this is the worst fit ever?!
loading...
Though, Southern Cross Austereo constantly side with Kyle Sandilands who is a well-known and documented chauvinist bastard, pig who has said so many uncountable repugnant things about women. SC have consistently stood by him.
If Austereo actually gave a toss about women and did in fact “share your vision”, they would have sacked Kyle Sandilands years ago. Its all about money and very little about vision, lets all be honest about that. I think I’d have more respect if that was just admitted up front, don’t thinly veil it under the same vision because that sure as heck isn’t true.
loading...
Thanks for taking the time out to reply MIa, and also to you too Jamila. You’ve got such a strong and well trusted brand in your mamamia website and i guess while i’m not your typical demographic i always find reading the pieces put on your site interesting and insightful. (especially seeing as i have a wife and 2 daughters at home). I would hate to think that your show may be the lead in to the Kyle and Jackie O show in Melbourne which, especially if your show is successful would give them a ratings boost. Good luck to Em and Dave though, we wish nothing but the best for them.
loading...
How excitement…
CONGRATS and big hugs
N xxx
loading...
Excellent! Looking forward to it.
loading...
I can’t wait for this to start next Monday! I’m already calling it my version of happy hour… or more accurately wine time.
loading...
CONGRATS Mamamia, so excited about this!!
loading...
Oh gosh that Dave Thorton fellow is a little bit handsome isn’t he?
loading...
Oh this is such great Thursday news! I’ve been at a loss for what to listen to during my train ride home.
loading...
So when can we start making song requests? PLAY JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE!!!
loading...
It’s alllll going to be One Direction. YOU DON’T KNOW YOU’RE BEAUTIFUL!
loading...
I just vomited a little . . .
loading...
I am SO EXCITED for this to start. I love Em and I know Dave is going to be fantastic too.
loading...
I am going to buy a radio just to listen to this show!! Woooop, sooo excited
loading...
I love these two!! So smart and funny. Will us country bumpkins be able to podcast it, as we don’t get Austereo in northern NSW?
loading...
First of all congrats to Mia and Mamamia for the new venture. I’m sure it will be a great show with people like Em and Dave hosting! Unfortunately I won’t be able to tune in so just wanted to wish you good luck!
Also why is it that people can’t just say congrats and get on with it? I mean no one is forcing you to have to listen to the program. Do people really need to nit pick at everything that Mamamia do? Uhhhhh seriously these comments on here sometimes are extremely irritating!
loading...
I know its getting really old isnt it. Its getting to the point where I just cant be bothered reading as I don’t like all the negativity and nitpicking, and reading all the comments used to be my favourite part.
loading...
Yep I agree! I also like reading comments and now not so much! I just skim through really as I’m not interested in reading negativity! It’s one thing to have a difference of opinion but it’s another to be rude and judgemental.
loading...
I hope I haven’t been rude and judgmental. I am genuinely puzzled about the alliance!
I think what i wrote was fine. People then get judgey on me saying do you think this way about Hamish and Andy?
I watch their TV show and i will read Mamamia – but i wont “tune into” Austereo.
loading...
This is great news for Em & Mamamia and is well deserved….
Word of warning – if you thought Channel 10 was fickle, beware of radio (and it’s executives too).
It’s all about money and attracting an audience that will (by word of mouth and loyalty) enhance the Austerio and TV brand.
The Circle attracted an audience of 62,000 (not the highest rating of the day though)……….that’s potentially 62,000 people who’ll no longer leave their TV sets on Channel 10 for the day. That could also mean that The Project could suffer – a real shame as it’s educating the clueless even with it’s “news ‘light” format.
Of course there’ll be the occasional “middle-aged, right-wing male troll” who’ll dispute the fact that there’s always a drive to shut down females in the media (and their opinions)…….Australian women should be complaining loudly about The Circle’s demise (even if they couldn’t watch it regularly) because of it’s importance in the TV landscape.
The Circle was a “specialist” program just as Mamamia’s radio show will be.
If it weren’t for specialist programming our free-to-air television would be saturated with News, Sport , American sit-coms and, oh yes – sport.
loading...
I am so excited. Listen to Austereo already, for me they are the most entertaining of all the radio stations, and I think you guys will be a great fit. Well done on all your success. It’s well deserved.
loading...
This looks like an interesting initiative. Clever to involve the user interaction that has made the mm site a success.
Has Mia just found another media channel via which to cop abuse?
loading...
ARRRGHHH!!!!!!!!!!
loading...
You’ll be right. Just make sure that they give you one of those ‘Caller Mute’ buttons that Alan Jones uses to great effect.
loading...
I hope you podcast, im so excited! Congrats!
loading...
I’m really excited about this – I’ve been wanting MM on the radio for some time! But I must express my disappointment that the partnership is with the Today Network, the station that keeps Kyle Sandilands on air. I would be so, so much happier if MM had joined forces with a different station.
loading...
Hey Anon,
Austereo are a natural fit for us because they are a female-focussed station in terms of their audience.
They also have the widest reach of any other national network.
And they have a great reputation with building some incredible national brands like Hamish & Andy and Fifi & Jules.
We feel like we’re in very safe and capable hands and please trust me that we would never associate our brand with a company unless they shared our vision in a partnership like this.
loading...
I have to say I’m with Anon on this one, as much as it pains me. I won’t listen to the station, simple as that. The fact they have so many listeners is why Kyle keeps in a job – people listening to him – so don’t and he will actually go away. Ratings is everything in radio, there isn’t a vision at all.
loading...
Absolutely devastated that you have teamed up with Austereo!
Until they take Kyle off the air I no longer have 2dayFM programmed on my car radio.
loading...
Um, if I’m not mistaken, this show is REPLACING the hour of power which used to be hosted by Kyle and Jackie O?
So it’s a victory actually for all of us who hate Kyle.
Thanks Mamamia. Will actually be able to listen to TodayFm on my way home now!
loading...
Um isn’t 6-7 when Kyle and JAckie O’s hour of power was on? This means MM are replacing them.
loading...
Snap!
loading...
They’ll still have breakfast. I feel the same as Singleinoz. Shattered that MM has joined with Austereo – especially after being so vocal about Kyle Sandilands in the past
loading...
Anon – real questIon: do you feel the same way about Hamish & Andy?
They’re also part of Austereo.
loading...
Actually no I don’t but the only way Austereo will listen is to vote with our ears!
So as I said – no matter what I think of the other presenters I don’t want anything to do with Austereo!
When i got my new car last year and had to program the radio i had a small victory in my head when I automatically went to program 2day and went hang on a minute… and I didn’t!
loading...
I love Andy …….and Hamish !
loading...
They’ve recently changed it up, hour of power is at 7 now.
loading...
Congratulations to Mamamia & the Team!
Good on you for trying different mediums and reaching different audiences. It’s an exciting time to be in media – there are so many ways to engage with people and have topical conversations! I love that you’re also bringing different voices along for the ride – can’t wait to tune into Em, she is hilarious!
Next stop, Mamamia World Domination!
loading...
YAY!!!
I’m a huge fan of Em’s and I looooooove watching Dave Thornton on The Project. Can’t wait to tune in. Am hoping they’ll do podcasts for those of us wrangling children between 6pm-7pm.
I hope we also get to hear from some of MM’s regular contributors from time to time like Jess Rudd, Zoe Foster, Bern Morley and Kate Hunter!
