Talk about timing.  As Channel Nine boss David Gyngell was walking into a final meetings to save Channel Nine from heading into receivership, his wife, Channel Nine presenter Leila McKinnon, was giving birth to their first child – a boy.

News Limited reports:

As the Nine Entertainment Co. boss was embroiled in the final-hour talks to save the company including Channel 9 from receivership, his Weekend Today show co-host wife went into labour late yesterday – a week before her due date.

The baby was born earlier this morning, with a Nine spokeswoman confirming: “everyone is happy and well.”

Baby ‘Gyng’ has a strong TV pedigree, with his late grandfather Bruce Gyngell the first man to appear on Australian television.

Jennifer Aniston gets teary when speaking about her engagement. The actress appeared on Chelsea Handler’s late night show to discuss her engagement to fiance Justin Theroux and used a word we’d never heard before. Watch the video right here:

In case you can’t watch the video, Chelsea comments on the engagement, saying: “He’s the greatest guy ever. You guys make the greatest couple ever.”

Jennifer gets teary, saying: “I just got verklempt.” (“Verklempt” is Yiddish for “overcome with emotion”.) Your mission – if you choose to accept it – is to use ‘verkelmpt’ in a sentence today. Go.

You won’t believe who will be co-hosting the Golden Globes in the new year. And no, it’s not Ricky Gervais, who has hosted for the last three years (to some very mixed reviews). The hosting crown has been handed over to comediennes Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, who are good friends and even starred in a movie together.

Ricky seems to be glad that he’s not returning for a fourth stint at the hosting role. After last year, he wrote on his blog:

‘Thank f**k that’s over. I had a blast actually. It was by far my favorite of the three hosting stints.

‘I’ve told my agent to never let me be persuaded to do it again though. It’s like a parachute jump.

‘You can only really enjoy it in retrospect when you realize you didn’t die and it was quite an amazing thing to do.’
