Congratulations, Zooey Deschanel.
The 34-year-old perpetually gorgeous/quirky/adorable New Girl actor is expecting her first child with her partner, 42-year-old Hollywood producer Jacob Pechenik.
Zooey confirmed the news herself yesterday, telling People magazine: “Jacob and I are over the moon. We are so excited to meet our little one.”
The ridiculously attractive, dark-haired couple certainly haven’t wasted any time: they started dating in the middle of last year after Zooey split from her boyfriend of two years, writer Jamie Linden.
No word on when the baby is due, or whether the pregnancy will affect any filming schedules.
All we know is, we hope the baby is a female so we can say the pair have just made a “New Girl” (geddit?)
We can also confirm that here will be many a Deschanel baby playdate in future, because Zooey’s sister Emily is also pregnant; the Bones star announced last month that she’s expecting her second child with husband David Hornsby, whom she married in 2010.
