Imogen Anthony has spoken for the first time about her break up with Kyle Sandilands.

There’s not many relationships I’m as invested in as the relationship between Imogen Anthony and Kyle Sandilands. 

I don’t know why.

I think it’s because they’re rogue and I don’t… understand. What they’re doing. Like… ever.

And I love it.

So when I learnt earlier this week that their eight year relationship was over, I was devastated.

Well, I wasn’t. But I was vaguely interested in why and sad they might not be attending Burning Man together and posting strange content on Instagram.

On Tuesday, 48-year-old Kyle announced on the Kyle and Jackie O Show – after much speculation – that he had split with model and fashion designer, Imogen Anthony.

“A lot people have been hitting us up on social media, a few media enquiries, about my relationship status,” he said.

“We haven’t been with each other for quite a few months now. Unfortunately it’s run its course.

“So here we all are in the same boat,” he said, acknowledging his co-host Jackie O. “I’m single, you are, Intern Pete is. What a sad bunch of people.”

“Just when you start to think everything’s good…”

The country, however, were left wondering: DEAR GOD BUT WHY.

Then, thankfully, on Friday afternoon, Imogen Anthony responded.

On her Instagram story, the 28-year-old told her 159,000 followers that a) Daily Mail reporters were on her property, b) she wanted them to "f*ck off," and c) she'd like to explain a 'lil bit about why she's no longer dating Kyle.

"Everyone's busting for details..." she said, adding that "quite frankly - it's none of anyone's business".

"But at the same time, there's something to be said about just shutting up all the people speculating and talking sh*t," she continued. "So, I'm just going to leave you all with this."

"We still love each other very much, we speak every day, we still see each other, we deal with things with each other, we share the farm, we share this fat lump of a dog...

"There's so much more to it than what people see... there's such a grey area here. But in saying that as well, we didn't want to kind of have everyone think something differently when we're not those kinds of people.

"We have a lot to deal with separately... it's been one of the hardest years of our lives, separately. I've got so much family stuff, and you know, there's so much health stuff involved between us, and there's... we just kind of want to... get ourselves into the best form of ourselves that we can be, without kind of pissing in each other's pockets."

I see.

So essentially, they broke up for the same reason most people do: life is a bit f*cked.

"That's pretty much it," Imogen said. "It's sad. It's also... the end is... may not be the end."
