Grey's Anatomy: The real reason they killed off Derek Shepherd.

Apparently McDreamy is a bit too McRandy and got himself into some McTrouble on set.

After 11 seasons of Grey’s Anatomy, Patrick Dempsey has left the show.

*SPOILER ALERT*

DON’T KEEP SCROLLING IF YOU’RE NOT UP-TO-DATE.

… … …

… … … …

Derek Sheperd a.k.a ‘McDreamy’ was tragically killed after spending the day being a truly wonderful person and just trying to help wounded people who’d been involved in a car accident. He saved them all but was then hit by a truck as he returned to his own car because THAT IS TOTALLY FAIR.

Ahem. What? I’m not bitter about this at all.

We mourned the loss of our favourite TV neuro-surgeon/husband, and cursed the emotional havoc wreaked by creator Shonda Rhimes, hoping Dempsey chose to leave the show of his own accord, perhaps to pursue bigger and better (pffft yeah right) things.

Not so, according to Radar Onlinewho have reported Dempsey’s exit from the show was far from amicable.

According to a source, tensions were high on the set for months due to the fact that Dempsey was having an affair with a much younger set staffer.

“It was obvious to everyone Patrick was [sleeping with] her,” Radar reports. “It got very messy and emotional on set and became a huge liability.”

Because of the disruption the dalliance caused, Dempsey was reportedly suspended by the show’s creator, writer and producer Shonda Rhimes, who does not put up with on-set hanky-panky.

Especially if the hank or pank involved happens to be married.

After his divorce, earlier this year Dempsey told reporters it was because of his demanding Grey’s acting schedule. However, In Touch reports that it was the affair with a younger woman, which ended Dempsey’s 15-year marriage to Jillian Fink.

Derek left Addison for a younger Meredith, so perhaps this is a case of scandalous life imitating scandalous art.

I cried so hard I threw up when Lexie died. What has been your most emotional Grey’s Anatomy moment?

I am of the E.R. era. I worked in a city hospital and on Thursday night shifts, we would make sure that we went hard to ensure we could flick on E.R. come 8:30. We would let the patients know and they would often put the station on for us if we were buzzed to go into their rooms.
I will never forget when Dr. Green died, the whole ward were united in grief.

Oh, agreed. Devastating.

Yep, I totally cried when that happened.

I had the same with 'House' when I worked as a midwife. I had one long term ante natal patient who spent four months in the post natal ward and every Wednesday at 8.30pm she'd buzz me to come and watch with her. It was great!

Yes, I was an ER obsessive (even though I used to rant at the mistakes and the fact that it was the most versatile emergency department, ever). I was very upset when Dr Green died.
