In alarming news, New Zealand's PM puts tinned spaghetti on his pizza.

Look, it’s no secret our neighbours across the ditch have some funny ol’ habits — calling Eskies “chilly bins”, for one thing.

However, New Zealand’s very own Prime Minister has just done something so strange, so indefensible, that we’re not sure we’ll be able to view the country in the same way again.

Bill English made his family pizza for dinner this week, and used tinned spaghetti as one of the toppings. We repeat: Tinned. Spaghetti.

The PM proudly shared his gut-tweaking concoction on Facebook, asking followers to like the post if they agreed with his abomination bold culinary decision.

In alarming news, many of them seemed to be on board with the spaghetti-pizza melange.

“I don’t support your policies, but spaghetti on pizza is something I can get behind,” one wrote.

Others viewed the revelation as relatable, with one posting, “It comforts me to know I have about the same level of culinary skill as our Prime Minister.”

Listen: Chef Matt Moran reveals the secret to a perfect roast chicken. (Post continues after audio.)

Some Kiwis, on the other hand, responded with disdain.

“Sorry Bill, any man who puts spaghetti on a pizza is not fit to run my country, you cannot count on my vote come election time,” one posted.

You know, this could be the issue that decides the next election.

Looking at English’s photos, there might be a few questions running through your mind. Things like: Why? and Who in their right mind would do this? and Doesn’t the spaghetti make the base all soggy?

Thankfully, English answered that last question in a comment.

"I drained off some of the liquid but not quite enough since pizza was a bit soggy in the middle," he told a follower.

Just in case you're wondering, he also reckons the spaghetti goes well with pineapple.

On a scale of one to 'pizza dipped in milk', this is right up there with outrageous pizza behaviour. What's next? Baked beans?

Is there a weird pizza topping you swear by? Share it in the comments, if you dare.

Cooked pineapple's the real crime here. Wash that down with some hot orange juice?

I don't get the fuss people make of this. There's alot of hatred out there towards people who like pineapple on pizza - but what is the big deal??? Everyone has different likes and dislikes (I don't like prawns - is that unAustralian?!). Some people like some sweet and savory flavours together. Honey chicken - is that an abomination? Some people might think so, but I love it! Salted caramel? Sweet and Sour pork? The list could go on. My husband like vegemite and honey together on bread - I think it's disgusting, but I still love him! Live and let live. (and this is not just a comment for you, Gu3st, it's not all the pineapple-on-pizza-people-haters. That includes Gordon Ramsay! Not that he will read this. But there you go).
