Take a look at the most powerful protest signs from Sydney's Women's March.

“We haven’t come this far to take ten steps back. This isn’t the f**king cha-cha.”

As Donald Trump dances the night away celebrating the fact that today he is America’s 45th President, women from far and wide, outside the immediate Trump gaze, came to talk about it.

They came to chant, they came to unite and they came with sassy, defiant protest signs to extol just how very personal this day is for women around the world.

Mamamia was there, hand-in-hand with our feminist sisters. And these were some of the very best…

'I am not free while any woman is not free'.

Well, how about 'I am not free while any PERSON is not free'. This gender specific sympathy is a worry and leads to issues like the mass outpouring of grief for the stolen Nigerian schoolgirls, yet crickets for the countless school boys at the same school who were actually killed.

As someone who has been involved in feminism and is truly disillusioned by the hypocrisy and therefore decided to stay away from this march, I can tell you they have no concern for the stolen Nigerian schoolgirls, because that atrocity was committed by Muslims and we aren't allowed to criticise Islam in the leftwing feminist circles that I belong to, otherwise you get called an Islamophobe or if they really want to hurt you, right wing. I've been involved with left wing feminism for most of my life, but I've had enough of this hypocrisy that we march on Trump but I'm expected to attend feminist functions and not criticise women wearing hijabs and supporting an ideology that oppresses women far worse than even Trump ever has.

I am no defender of Trump, despicable sexist, but I can say this about him, so far he hasn't stoned anyone to death and I don't hear him planning to introduce laws to segregate men and women or cancel women's driving licences or hang/stone women to death if they commit adultery, or change the American court system so that women's testimony is worth half a man.

Thoroughly disillusioned with both feminism and left wing politics right now due to this hypocrisy and support of an ideology which commits gender apartheid.

Seems like the world is been divided up into two fascist movements now, and you have to decide which one to vote for. Rightwing fascists like Trump, or left wingers who support Islamic fascism.

At last some reality about the inconsistency which exists in the feminist movement.
The blinkers when looking at Clinton's past record was a classic example.

I was feeling quite bitter when I wrote this the other day. I do believe that feminism has done some wonderful things for women, and many feminists still get involved in campaigns to help women, such as domestic violence campaigns etc, but I am really disillusioned with this left wing and feminist embrace of Islamic ideology.

I was always involved in the left wing because I felt that they cared about social justice, I still believe there is a lot of that in the left wing, but unfortunately I have also realised they only care about women's rights when white men are harming them, and not when a non white race is harming them. I see this time and time again, and Trump is the classic example of this, they rail against him but welcome Muslims who are supporting an ideology that segregates and subjugates women.

I have no issue with helping Muslim refugees who come here with jobs, healthcare etc. That to me is social justice in action, but this enablement and embrace of their oppressive ideology is what makes me angry. They should be told that we will support them find work etc and help them with other needs, but we don't agree with their oppressive ideology.

And yet muslims were embraced as part of this march. Nazis and the Ku Klux Klan are minorities too but I don't see anyone in the left rushing to protect and include them.
