Bec Sparrow speaks openly and honestly about losing her daughter Georgie.

Six babies are delivered stillborn every day in Australia.

And the loss of every single one of those precious children is keenly felt by their mothers, fathers and family.

These parents who were planning on joyously welcoming a new baby into the world, instead face overwhelming, shocking and confronting grief.

Today is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Day, and in honour of all the families who have ever experienced the devastation of a stillbirth, Mamamia brings you this ABC interview with our Contributing Editor Rebecca Sparrow.

Bec’s beautiful daughter Georgia Grace was stillborn and she spoke to ABC’s Rebecca Levingston, as well as the founder of the Stillbirth Foundation Australia Emma McLeod, about her family’s loss.

You can listen to the beautiful interview below.

Please share to let other women know how common this is – and that it’s okay to feel lost.

As a blessed mum of three, my heart goes out to everyone who goes through this. I cannot begin to imagine the heartache, I truly can't. Listening to this, I broke down when Bec and Rebecca did during the sonogram. I'm a hard-arse, I rarely cry unless it's animals - the fact I cried at this proves that you guys are getting your message across. I hope it goes further..

Thank you for sharing a difficult story for your family and yourself, but one that happens to many people everyday. It was enlightening to hear you speak with the love of a mother, who just wants the memory of their child to live on. Thank you for being so brave.
