Sam Frost says Michael wasn't the real runner-up on The Bachelorette.

Update…

Yesterday, former Bachelorette Sam Frost admitted that it was Richie, not Michael, who was her real runner-up in the competition.

She said she eliminated him in the penultimate show because it would have been too cruel to take him through to the final.

This admission left Michael a little peeved.

He told show-spoiler the Daily Mail: “Like Richie, I have feelings too. It wasn’t easy to read, and if that’s the truth, she should have let me go… I think she should have let me go as soon as she realised that I was not the guy for her.”

That’s all well and good, but Sam obviously had a big fat crush on winner Sasha as soon as she clapped eyes on him. What was she to do, dismiss all 13 other suitors?

Poor Michael told Sam that he loved her before she let him go.

What Mamamia reported earlier…

We loved Richie.

When Sam Frost said goodbye to Richie Strahan on The Bachelorette, our hearts broke for him.

“Don’t worry! There are plenty of women who would kill to date a gorgeous rope access technician like you!” we wanted to tell him.

Sam Frost was clearly emotional when she had to say goodbye to him, too, and she’s revealed that it wasn’t just because he’s quite attractive and very charming.

No, it was because he was actually her real runner up, not Michael Turnbull.

She told NW that the reason she chose Michael over Richie as runner-up was to spare his feelings.

She didn’t want to “take him through to the finale” she said, adding that she would have “struggled to let him down that way.”

“It was better he left when he did.”

That’s all good and well, but what about poor Michael’s feelings?

She let him think he was in with a chance but clearly she’d chosen winner Sasha well before the finale.

Michael took his rejection by Sam graciously, and in her defense, she didn’t seem to find it any easier letting down Michael than she did Richie.

It seems like dating 14 guys at once isn’t quite the walk in the park we thought it was.

Richie and Michael are both still licking their wounds after their public rejections, hanging out with their Bachelorette bros and doing other bro-type things.

The big question now is: which one will be next on The Bachelor?

Blake chose her and then perhaps realised later he'd made a huge mistake and chosen the wrong girl. Perhaps I missed more of the gossip/saga but that was my understanding of the Blake/Sam scenario. Do you give it more time and wait and see if things improve and grow between you? Or do you end things and chase up the one you think you should have actually chosen in fear of possibly leaving it too late? I have had those same feelings. I am not a bad person. It is terrifying. Knowing the hurt you could cause and just hoping that giving it more time will make the feelings go away. A very complicated scenario of feeling certain and then later realising I made a huge mistake and I don't think anyone can judge until in their shoes. Thank god I wasn’t on
national television. Most people take proposing seriously, I honestly thought
from watching it he meant it at the time. Things change, things go on behind closed doors that we don't see. Perhaps he shouldn’t have proposed, but gosh, I gush and go all ga ga watching a soppy movie, so I can see how people easily get caught up in the moment in these shows.

I pushed through for a while hoping my uncertainty would change, so if on reality T.V…. I would possibly be seen as a horrible player/stringing someone along but was not my intention. I also imagine it would eventually get difficult to make choices considering they also don't go on many 1-1 dates together. Falling for various aspects of many people …but not having enough of the picture to make the right choice. Not defending him as he chose to be in that dating /pressure scenario but ...so did Sam. I feel that
while some things may be justified, he has generally copped maybe a tiiiiny
bit tooooo much flack and Sam has had a good run at the lovable heartbroken
victim.

Also Sam really didn't need to go public with that statement and Richie being the real runner up. It's disrespectful to Michael and also implies Richie couldn't have handled it. If she so easily felt forced/pressured/confused/concerned about others feelings, and manipulated her order of preferences to spare feelings, it's quite acceptable that Blake possibly was in very emotional and confusing scenario also and that it all just got a bit complicated/out of hand.

You're assuming there that Michael had feelings for Sam. Look, he's a millionaire. And Sam is sweet but uneducated and ordinary. I bet Michael was paid a fee to appear. The finale was just part of the gig...

Oh I know, how dare an uneducated, ordinary, 'commoner' even think that a millionaire would consider having feelings for her! Lucy Baker - you are the logic this show has been missing!

Ouch. So uneducated, ordinary women aren't good enough for rich people? I think you might have stepped back in time a bit there!
