Wondering why Rihanna would release a series of collaborations with Chris Brown – the same man who assaulted her in 2009?
She said Brown – who is still on probation for the attack – was “the only person that, really, it made sense to do the record.”
“You know, I thought about rappers, and I’ve done that so many times, and the hottest R&B artist out right now is Chris Brown,” she said.

I suppose for every Rhianna there's a sparkling female celeb domestic violence surviver who walks away and beyond with dignity. But that takes being surrounded by the right 'voices' in your life that mentor and guide. And that's what's missing in Rhianna's life. Sad.
Oh boy.... I don't know what to say about this whole thing anymore so let me tell you a story.
Over 10 years ago my mum's second husband (who is also my baby sister's father) sexually assaulted me. It wasn't rape but it scarred me just as much. I was a child - no older than 12 or 13 from what I remember. He also threw my sister who was just a baby at the time across the room, hit my mum and me numerous times and was just basically a class A dickhead.
Fast forward 10 years and he lost his daughter, Kim, from his first marriage due to her terminal illness.
I called my baby sister who was with him for the day (she still sees him on a regular basis and doesn't know what happened to me) to see how she was on what would've been Kim's 30th birthday if she'd lived to celebrate it.
While I was on the phone to her and almost said "pass on my love to your dad and I hope he is coping ok today" and then I stopped.
I could've easily said it but I knew that he didn't deserve ANYTHING from me. I'm always polite with my sister about him because he is her father and she loves him after all but I don't owe him anything.
So... from my experiences Rihanna *could* stop herself from acting on every desire she feels to please Chris Brown, collaborate with him, engage both their fans etc etc.
It is difficult to separate who you are and who deserves your love and compassion. But it must be done to preserve yourself and who you want to be. You don't want to be a victim anymore and with that comes some hard choices.
I think Rihanna is very lost and she is caught up in a crazy world of fame and celebrity. I hope that she can believe enough in herself - like her fans believe in her music and her voice.
She is a beautiful woman and she deserves better.

Ive been through something similar and i just dont get it either.
psycholgically, i understand how dependant people can become, but rationally it does my head in!!
