Reese Witherspoon's hair just got 10 centimetres shorter.

Reese Witherspoon isn’t exactly known for her out-there hair choices.

Since bursting onto our screens as Elle Wood in Legally Blonde almost 15 years ago, her signature hairstyle has remained pretty much the same. With the exception of the occasional shorter chop, fringe or red carpet updo, it’s been long and blonde.

So you could say her latest change is a little, erm, Wild.

It’s summery, choppy, and a good 10 centimetres shorter than it was before.

Celebrity hairstylist Cervando – who also works with the likes of fellow blondes Kirsten Dunst and Naomi Watts – shared the final results on Instagram.

“I took four inches off. It’s a fresh pretty new look. It’s great for summer because it’s long enough to be put up in a ponytail or bun, with the long layers that frame Reese’s face quite nicely,” he told US Weekly.

The 40-year-old’s look was styled into a centre part and slight waves, with texture added thanks to two key products – Serge Normant Meta Lush Volumizer for volume, and Sachajuan Volume Powder.

And the slightly darker roots will make any blonde fist pump. (Post continues after gallery.)

The change is basically what summer hair dreams are made of.

“I can picture her stepping out of the pool or ocean and just letting the hair air dry. The texture would be perfect!” Cervando added.

Bella Hadid

The dark-haired model appeared to go blonde overnight, sharing a behind-the-scenes snap sporting white blonde hair with pink streaks.

Kate Moss’ go-to stylist Sam McKnight and celebrity makeup artist Val Garland was also tagged.

Knowing her older sister Gigi’s penchant for hair trickery (remember that faux bob?) we’re thinking this may just be a temporary change, thanks to a very excellent wig.

The anticipation!

Did an under 25er write this? I am guessing so, as any woman over 25 knows the most different her hair it has been (far from this!) is either brunette in Walk the Line or shorter in Sweet Home Alabama.

Is this a joke? It looks exactly the same.
