Is there anything funnier than a train full of screaming commuters hysterically jumping on seats as a rat runs free through the carriage?
No. No there is not.
That’s probably why this video has had nearly 200,000 hits in two days.
On Monday morning, just as the doors were closing on a New York train, a very special rodent-passenger jumped aboard at the last second.
The guy who filmed the ensuing chaos on his phone had this to say:
“Someone getting off the train was screaming ‘RAT on the train!’ But by the time everyone realized what was happening, the doors closed and the train entered the tunnel. We were stuck with him till the other end.”
Worst. Nightmare.

Am I the only one feeling sorry for the rat? It looks like it's in a blind panic running back and forth...poor little guy.
I do, poor little guy! I've had pet rats before and they are the most loveable creatures, and total pack animals. This one would not only be traumatised by what happened, but when he gets off the train he will be missing his family (and probably beaten up by the resident rats at the next station).
