Roxy Jacenko shares her plans for her husband's release from jail on Friday.

After a year without their husband and father, Roxy Jacenko and her children – Pixie, 5 and Hunter, 3 – will be reunited with Oliver Curtis who is set to be released from prison this week.

Serving 12 months in Cooma Correctional Centre on insider trading charges, the businessman will return to his Sydney home where his children are counting down the days on a calendar until his arrival.

"[Pixie's] been marking off the days and now we're down to however many sleeps," Jacenko told Sally Obermeder during an In Conversation With Q&A event hosted by Channel Seven.

"It will be amazing for the children and I am just excited to see their faces when they see him."

Jacenko revealed she'd be throwing Curtis a homecoming party on Saturday night at their Bondi property, Fairfax reports.

Pixie and Hunter have been under the impression their father has been away on business, rather than in jail - a matter Jacenko revealed to Mamamia in March.

Jacenko has now told Obermeder she is working on a plan to convince the children Curtis won't be leaving "for overseas" again on Monday.

"I might have to take them in the car with him to (his) office so they can see there is no plane involved, or handcuffs for that matter," she said.

While she had previously said she would make the four-and-a-half hour drive to Cooma for her husband's release on Friday, she did not confirm if she would be greeting the 31-year-old at the prison gates.

Curtis' release marks the end of a tough year for the Sweaty Betty PR entrepreneur, who was diagnosed with breast cancer shortly after her husband's sentencing.

Speaking to Mia Freedman on No Filter, the business woman spoke of the unique way she is helping her children cope with their father's absence.

"I told [Hunter] we were going to China and we went on a plane – I was like ‘45 minutes to China!’" Jacenko said of how she navigated her son visiting Curtis during his "business trip in China".

"Hunter was probably thinking ‘Why is my dad all in green?’ and ‘Oh China! Very interesting here, not much around...a lot of high fences."

"As a mother, if you have children you have an obligation. I would forgo my own happiness for my children's happiness," she said.

"Helping them cope"

I actually think it's despicable.

I'm also wondering if an impending divorce announcement might be in the immediate future too? She's been doing the solo thing for the last 12 months, good practise for when you kick your criminal husband to the curb for embarassing you, your children and your "brand". If it was my husband, I don't think I'd be too welcoming when he came out of gaol to be honest.

Even if you married him with the knowledge that this was looming? RJ has very contrasting values to me in a lot of ways, but one area where she had my respect was that she was standing by her husband when times got tough.

That respect has been pretty eroded by the presence of the ex-boyfriend.

I'm not sure, all this is fan-bloody-tastic publicity. And you know what they say about any publicity being good publicity. Self advertisement is what RJ does.
