FLUFF: Was My Kitchen Rules rigged?

My Kitchen Rules? More like My Kitchen Riggs The Results.

That’s what angry fans are saying after last night’s episode, when South Australian mums Bree May and Jessica Liebich beat 26-year-old Victorian twinsies Helena and Vikki Moursellas.

The elimination means that serial meanies Chloe, 28, and Kelly, 27, (who will now be known by their celebrity couple name Chlo-elly for convenience) will not be facing their arch-nemeses in tonight’s grand final.

Despite this, fans are still outraged that Chlo-elly beat the surfer dads from QLD Paul, 45, and Blair, 38, to get through to the finale. The outrage stems from Chlo-elly’s rude behaviour, snide remarks and bad cooking (this is a cooking show, after all).

Immediately following the airing of the show last night, the Twitter-sphere was alive with indignant Tweets claiming foul play by the show’s producers.

Chloe & Kelly could serve up puréed horse heart covered in human vomit and judges would give it 10/10 #rigged #joke #MKR #worstshow #setup — Rastus Bavarian (@midnight_show) April 28, 2014

It’s funny how a cooking show #MKR changes from judging food to judging personalities. May the best cooks win. — Peter Waterhouse (@PeterWaterhous2) April 28, 2014

This isn’t the first time fan-made furore has erupted in the reality TV show. In the shocking scandal dubbed Pastry-Gate, judge Manu Feildel was accused of awarding Chlo-elly too many points for their store-bought dessert.

Manu replied to the criticism on his Facebook, stating:

It reads, “This is what I love about MKR! There’s always robust debate about scoring. But from someone who was there tasting the food, I can assure you Chloe and Kelly’s dinner was better than Andrew and Emelia’s.”

These scandals have resulted in many fans claiming they will boycott the show. Sadly for these people, there is only one episode left and the show’s producers are waving their recent Logie for Most Popular Reality Program at all the haters.

Better luck next season, MKR boycotters. Or should we say… If you can’t stand the heat, leave the kitchen.

Oh, and the whole thing with Carly and Tresne was bullshit too - they both didn't go into MKR "wanting" to be portrayed as friends, they signed their contracts and the producers decided to cut out every bit of them being a couple that was filmed and it was only found out months later by the girls that they weren't taking "that angle" with them... But if you've signed contracts you just have to grin and bare it, despite them being very vocally annoyed that they were being shoved back into the closed off screen.
