Nadia Brighton from Pet Insurance Australia has some advice for anyone naming their cat or dog, suggesting you “Take your time and choose a sensible name that is going to stand the test of time… it’s a good idea to see how the name carries when called.”
It is also advised that you choose a name that has two syllables, so it can be differentiated from command like “sit” or “stay”.

The suggestion of seeing how a name sounds when shouted it one that parents should do too. Always see how the potential name for your kid sounds shrieked from the back door of your house.
The names of every dog and cat I've ever owned are on this list! My current two dogs are both in the top 25 and my dearly departed dog from a couple of years ago is in the top 10. Not very creative with dog naming, apparently!
And I do know a dog named Bella. She lives up the street and I have returned her to her owners twice after discovering her strolling down the footpath on my way home from work. She's a bit of an escape artist.
