Miley Cyrus tweeted “life is beautiful” earlier today and now we know why.
The 19-year-old singer and actress is engaged to 22-year-old partner Liam Hemsworth.
She told People magazine: “I’m so happy to be engaged and look forward to a life of happiness with Liam.”
The magazine reported Hemsworth (who stars in The Hunger Games) proposed on May 31 with a 3.5-carat diamond ring from jeweller Neil Lane.
The pair met when they were filming The Last Song in 2009.

100 years ago it was the social norm to get married around 17-20 and be popping out babies soon after. Now we have less pressures to do so and more choice, most take more time.
What is wrong with young engagements now? I know of some that have been far more successful than a few I know who waited till their 30's.

She is 19 but has been in the spotlight for close to a decade so grew up fast. There was a video featured here a few weeks ago with Miley in it and she sounds like her head is in the right place. They've been together three years. They want to get married. They seem happy. They've kept their relationship out of the tabloids. Good on them!
