These images of Meghan Markle in a wedding dress have sent fans into a frenzy.

With news of an impending royal wedding next May, royal watchers are falling over themselves in a frenzy predicting every tiny detail of the wedding that will be.

First up: Who will do the honour of dresses the soon-to-be Princess?

Now, as speculation mounts, images of actress Meghan Markle wearing a wedding dress have re-appeared online in an old promo for Suits, sparking debate about exactly the kind of dress Markle will wear.

On Mamamia Out Loud we discuss why Meghan Markle Is The Role Model Young Women Need:

Fans of the US drama may remember that Meghan’s character, Rachel Zane, got left at the altar in the Anne Barge gown.

However, if you're assuming this gown is the kind of gown Markle will be wearing come May, perhaps you need to separate the actress from the character.

In a 2016 interview with Glamour, Markle hinted her own wedding would look vastly different to her character Rachel's, saying the gown she wore wasn't in line with her own "personal style because I'm a lot more relaxed than Rachel."

"I have the luxury of wearing beautiful pieces of clothing every day for work, so my personal style—wedding or not—is very pared down and relaxed. Classic and simple is the name of the game, perhaps with a modern twist. I personally prefer wedding dresses that are whimsical or subtly romantic. Delphine Manivet and Christos Costarellos are faves of mine for their uniqueness and beauty. And I will always be a fan of Ellie Saab. J. Mendel is spectacular as well, especially for more structural designs."

Of the designers being thrown around as potential to dress the former actress, a stand-out would have to be British-based designer Erdem Moralioglu, with Markle no stranger to his creations. In fact, in her recent interview with Vanity Fair, Markle said Erdem is "a designer I've been wearing for years".

We shall be watching this space intently.

She's not going to be a Princess. She'll end up being a Royal Duchess, just like the Duchess of Cambridge, because the Queen will give Harry a royal dukedom prior to the wedding in line with tradition. Without the dukedom, she'd just get a variation of Harry's title and would officially be Princess Henry of Wales, like Princess Michael of Kent, wife of Prince Michael of Kent.

Dress-wise, I think it'll be something with covered shoulders. Royal brides don't do strapless or spaghetti strap.
