Woman posts photo of her "medium rare chicken" dinner. Internet promptly explodes.

Morgan Gibbs was likely feeling a teenie bit peckish last Friday when she hatched a plan to cook her favourite poultry dish.

Unfortunately, the Australian woman ruffled a fair few feathers when she posted a photo of  her meal on Facebook.

Alas, “medium rare chicken strips” just didn’t fly on the internet, rather they seemed to send people into a big ol’ flap.

“Just made chicken medium rare chicken strips. They’re so good can’t believe I’ve never tried it like this before. Can’t wait to dig into this with my homemade salad and veggies,” Gibbs captioned the snap of the slightly under done chicken breast.

“I like my chicken with less salmonella,” one man squawked back.

Gibbs was quick to point out it was chicken NOT salmon, duh, but sadly the haters could not be sated:

“Wait. Wait. No.”

“No no no no.”

“This post has made me feel really ill.”

In fact many people thought the picture was SO foul (or, um, fowl) it wound up on Twitter as well.

Judging by Gibbs’ hashtags (which included #cleaneating and #newyearsresolution), we suspect she may actually have been tearing strips off ridiculous fad dieters.

But it hasn’t stopped the post being shared more than 150 times and even egging on an imitator.

Cocky.

Yeah, I think this is kind of a hoax. For one thing, I've seen this joke done before, right down to the "It's not salmon, it's chicken" line. The picture apparently comes from a Japanese tourism blog - seems they eat chicken like this there! So people do eat raw chicken, but this lady probably did not.
