Guy Pearce has announced that he is expecting a baby with his Game of Thrones girlfriend Carice van Houten.
In a statement released this weekend, van Houten’s publicist confirmed the announcement saying the couple are “thrilled” with the news.
It is the first child for 48-year-old Pearce and 39-year-old van Houten.
Both parties also took to social media to spread the happy news with van Houten posting on Instagram, “Yes. It’s true. Let the shadow baby jokes begin”.
She also added on Twitter, “Ok. I’m ready for your shadow baby jokes”.
The joke refers to van Houten’s Game of Thrones character who bizarrely gave birth to a shadow demon in season two.
Pearce split with his wife of 18 years, Kate Mestitz, in October. In 2012, he told the Herald Sun that children were never on his radar.
“We both know kids aren’t for us. She’s never wanted kids and I’ve never wanted kids,” he said at the time.
Although the relationship between Pearce and van Houten is yet to be officially confirmed, this all but verifies their relationship status we think.

He split with his wife of 18 years just five months ago, and I'm assuming that this pregnancy has gotten to the end of the fist trimester, as people don't tend to announce before three months. Wow, that IS efficient!
He announced the split five months ago, they could have split earlier - some reports I read said January last year.
