Born on January 3, Eissa is the first child for the couple, who announced they were expecting in May 2016.

The name Eissa is of Hebrew descent, and more commonly given to girls than boys.

Postponing dates in her worldwide Unbreakable tour, 50-year-old Jackson said, “We’re in the second leg of the tour, and there actually has been a sudden change... My husband and I are planning our family," Jackson said in a Twitter video.

Following the announcement, Jackson's older brother and father of nine Jermaine said, “She’ll be a great mother because she is very tough, very strict."

He says, "But I tell her, ‘If you need any parenting skills or baby skills, let me know because I’m the best diaper changer there is on this planet, still to this day'.”

Another family friend confirmed Jackson's excitement to PEOPLE in September, saying, “She is super excited about her pregnancy and is doing extremely well. She actually feels very good about everything.”

Jackson and Al Mana, a Qatari businessman, married in 2012.

You know that for a fact? The way she was wearing enough blanket like wraps that would have put the Smith Family Winter Appeal to shame, makes me think there was a bit of deception happening.
