Isla Fisher plagiarised Michelle Obama in her AACTA Awards acceptance speech and it was brilliant.

Melania Trump isn’t the only person who thinks imitation is the highest form of flattery when it comes to Michelle Obama’s speeches.

Australian actress Isla Fisher “stole” parts of the First Lady’s speech when she accepted her Trailblazer Award at the AACTA Awards on Wednesday night.

The 40-year-old had plenty of jokes in her Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards acceptance speech, starting off by thanking her peers for not being in the running for the award.

“I really have to thank my fellow actors, Nicole Kidman, Naomi Watts, Margot Robbie and Toni Collette – all of whom were no doubt offered this award first and they couldn’t make it here tonight so, yay!” Fisher said.

The Now You See Me star then delivered part of the 2008 speech Melania Trump plagiarised in July this year.

“From a young age my parents impressed on me the values that you work hard for what you want in this life, that your word is your bond, you say what you want to do and you keep your promises, that you treat people with respect,” Fisher said, before acknowledging that they weren’t her original words.

“I figured if Melania Trump can use them and have success, I should try,” she said.

Fisher’s hilarious speech didn’t stop there, joking that Amy Adams had taken all the roles for “gingers”.

And then she had one final quip about the Trumps.

“I do need to thank Trump. I don’t think I’d be here if it weren’t for him showing the world that unqualified orange people can win things.”

Fisher said it was surreal to receive her trophy from Oscar-winning actor Geoffrey Rush.

“There’s no question that this is the pinnacle of my career so far and a complete honour to come home and be supported. It feels incredible.”

Frankly I find this name calling childish in the extreme. I thought people grew out of crap like this when they left primary school but that must just be the people I associate with. Whether people like it or not, Donald Trump will be the president of the US in five weeks time. Nobody knows what type of president he'll make but the colour of his skin and his hairstyle won't dictate his performance in that position. If you compare Barack Obama and Donald Trump, it seems to me that Trump has far more qualifications for the job than Obama. Read up on Obama's life before the presidency and you'll see what I mean.
I find articles like this hypocritical as well. If a 'celebrity' were to make comments like that about a woman, would you still use the same glowing headline? I think not.
In short, grow up and stop seeing in people only the bad because it suits your agenda. Learn some respect for people generally and give others a fair go!

Look it's just a joke. Trump himself has admitted to having no political experience. Whether that will be a refreshing change or a recipe for disaster remains to be seen, but it is true that he is not 'qualified' for the job in terms of conventional political background.

Also Harvard Law graduate, and didn't have a rich father to get him to where he is. Also achieved all those things at a much younger age than Trump. At 55, he has already been President for 8 years. At 59 Trump was bragging about grabbing women by the pussy while his new wife sat at home with a baby.
