Why a Hillary Clinton presidency could have been worse than Trump.

Every time Donald Trump tweets an incoherent, capital letter riddled outburst or offends another minority group, it’s easy to romanticise what life would be like if Hillary Clinton was in the White House.

But would it be as perfect as we all dream it would be?

Speaking to Mia Freedman on Mamamia’s political podcast Tell Me It’s Going To Be OK, host of ABC’s Planet America, Chas Licciardello, thinks the rose-coloured view of a Clinton Presidency ignores where America was headed and how difficult it would have been for another Democratic President to get anything done.

Listen: Chas Liciardello breaks down all the reasons President Clinton would have been a disaster, and just why we need not worry so much about Trump. (Post continues after audio…)

“If Hillary Clinton had been President… America was headed for trouble,” Chas told Mia Freedman on this weeks episode of Tell Me It’s Going To Be OK.

The final three years of Obama’s Presidency was marred by an uncooperative Congress and if the Republicans didn’t get the person they wanted in the White House things were only going to get worse.

According to Chas, the direst of these consequences would have been the Republicans refusing to pass the debt ceiling; a decision that would have led to a global catastrophe.

“If America had hit the debt ceiling it would have been a worldwide recession, possibly depression.   That’s the way American politics was going [with Hillary Clinton]…to a very bad area.”

So, maybe Trump’s not so bad after all?

You can listen to Mia and Chas’ conversation on the full episode of Tell Me It’s Going To Be OK, below.

Wow. Thats all you can come up with.

Look. Clinton would be better on all levels, but progress would be slower and less chaotic. Trump opens the door for faster progress but increases systemic instability substantially which results in greater risk of total system wide failure. The billionaires have that on lock down. They have self sustaining fortresses and the levers of control to government we gave to them due to our own short shortsightedness and low IQ's.

We have trump because money qualifies you to win. You need to reject those who have an edge due to access to wealth. We need laws that make wealth leveraging criminal the same way terrorism/coup would be.

I don't buy this for a second. It's not even solid enough to be considered polemical. It's contrary filler. The Clinton v incumbent scenario is not a binary state in which the incumbent represents everything had and Clinton represents everything good. All that could reasonably be expected from a Clinton presidency was a steady hand on the tiller. But America doesn't even have that. There is no cogent argument in favour of the current administration, whether you include Clinton or not.

If you offered up the names of every human eligible for the office (35+ years old, natural born, has spent 14 consecutive years in country) I'd prefer one of 'em chosen at random over the fat orange slug masquerading as a president now. Nobody in their right mind thinks he is even close to being suitable or fit for the office.

I'd say any used car salesmen is equally as bad to the extent that they want to profit for a relatively worthless contribution.
